Which party will you vote for?
2019 General Election
First topic message reminder :
Now it's confirmed for December 12th (pretty much), I thought we should have a shiny new thread for the fourth and final UK GE of this tumultuous decade; a decade which has also included three referendums and four (maybe five) different Prime Ministers.
News this morning that Amber Rudd won't be defending her seat. Oh well.
Opinion polls currently have the Tories in a double digit lead, but it's anticipated to be a lot tighter than that by the time we reach the actual polling day.

Re: 2019 General Election
Level headed? Are you mad. You don't have the displeasure of hearing her on a daily basis. They are as bad as the Brexit party for being a one motion party. Everything, and I mean everything comes back to their absolute obsession with Independence regardless of whether Scotland will be better off as a result. The slightest change in UK politics and this disgusting woman is on the front foot like a snarling dog barking for Independence.
I don't call that level headed, I call that the rantings of a madwoman and their agenda is blinkered and cynical.
You might think that she's better than the other people, but that's a bit like arguing who has the best STD. When the leaders of the parties in this country are so wretched, it's best to give none of them any credit.

Will expect both of those to lose their seats by comfortable margins. Independents always struggle against party machines.
Polling for those constituencies has come out. Tories lead Grieve by 53-36 and they lead Gauke by 50-16 (Gauke also trails Labour).
Nationally, the marginal trend is continuing towards Labour, but we’re still in majority Tory territory.

Sturgeon tries to score a goal by using Trident as a way to save massive amounts of money. Replacing Trident costs 200bn over thirty years, that's only about £100 per person per year, hardly loads of money compared to what we spend on welfare is it?
How about she thinks of ways to get more people less dependent on benefits?

Re: 2019 General Election
Nicola Sturgeon is making a career on the passion of people being patriotic to their country and is giving no though on how to do anything if she gets what she is demanding.
If she has her way, then she will lead Scotland over the edge of a cliff.

Yes that is correct. Her face is full of hate whenever she mentions us, Nationalist politics are small minded and evil.
Considering she is not standing for election to Westminster why are we subjected to her nasty views?

She certainly plays on and is grateful for the innate hatred of the English that is prevalent in Scotland's working class and underclass. She might skillfully maneuver around it whilst on TV, but she knows that it exists and she clearly targets their support by using words like "betrayal" when talking about Westminster

Ta. If so, can't really see why the need for the hyperventilation, or the biased conclusion of Prawn (actually, I can see where the latter came from). He doesn't specifically blame a Labour Government as far as I can see. TBH, if we want to blame a Labour Government for this atrocity, how about we go back a bit further to that utter pr!ck, Bliar?Duty281 wrote:https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7742411/BORIS-JOHNSON-end-early-release-terrorists-violent-offenders.html

Ta - must be my Google search terms.
It's not as incumbent on me at all. If someone (TRUSS, Prawn etc) want to make random statements with a clear message (and bias), it's on them to cite their evidence. Yeah, I can go look, but it's not me making the point.

Re: 2019 General Election
My indignation is the politicising and quite clearly suggesting it’s stuff he’d fix cos others are weak. Think the police would shiver hearing that number again, whilst he blames the hung parliament for things like this not having been changed in law. And he blames the hung parliament on people blocking Brexit, which is a disgusting lie and also a disgusting tactic to make this part of the Brexit story. I haven’t read further than that, it made me sad.
They don’t need to reference, it’s just a forum, just a conversation. If you can’t find it, you can ask politely if someone can link it for you as you’re interested. If they’re rude then more fool them. It’s worked well with me and ol’ Duty there

The statement clearly wasn't random, was it? Honestly, every post you make on here is full to the brim with bile and contempt for other posters. I understand if I'm called a hypocrite for that but at least I at least try to address the points of others. If you don't happen to agree with something I've posted, do a little research and present a counter-argument like an adult instead of expecting others to do it for you. This is a comment and opinion site, not a flaming medical journal.
And of course I'm bloody biased. It's an opinion and I'm more than entitled to be.

If you're going to make a claim without evidence, he's well within his rights to reject it. If you're going to state an opinion then structure it as such, rather than as a matter of fact.
Fair enough?

I'm not the one trying to break up the union, maybe we (Britain) should all have a vote on it. But she would never ask for that as Scotland would be given their independence and then people would realise that the SNP are useless and she wouldn't have the power she craves. She appeals to small minded Scots with a chip on their shoulders.

Yep, I see it that way too.
She is making a living off the underlying hatred for the English, which if we can all be honest, is there, or the passion of being independent, yet as never offered any solutions to the problems that would arise with independence. She is totally blagging her way through life by whipping up a frenzy within the Scottish population.
She is being asked about currency and borders, but she is constantly avoiding the answers. She is blaming Westminster for everything. She is baying to the mob.
If Scotland got their independence, then I would bet my house that she would not put herself forward to be prime minister of Scotland. She has made her money, she would see it as job done, now let some one else sort it all out.
By not getting independence, she gets to keep her job as leader of the SNP. Which to be honest is a spiteful parochial party, along the same lines as Plaid Cymru.

I'm not going to speak for the SNP, but I object to this, Dowlais.

You have clearly not had to put up with the SNP.
The SNP are the most bitter, most small minded, most intolerant party you could ever see.
Case in point.
What a bloody baby you are.
You honestly don't see the irony? Are you serious?
I see that you see that any opposition to the repulsive SNP is seen as anger, but as you don't know anyone who is making a crisiticm of that party and that the tone of a comment is often hard to convey or understand in print then who really cares how you see it?
For the record I do hate the SNP, but I don't necessarily see that any posts made about the SNP on these pages have been made in a hateful way.
Critisicim doesn't necessarily equal hate, sorry that you can only see it one way.
The original claim was that Sturgeon was "level headed" it doesn't follow that showing this isn't true is in any way fuelled by hate. Describing someone as a rabid dog isn't necessarily a description which can be related to hate, rather a description of how the SNP behave with their mad insistence of independence being shoehorned into every argument.
