Refreshed side
First topic message reminder :
So a few comments I've lifted from the guardian from Eddie Jones. Pretty much as you'd expect in terms of looking ahead to the next challenge.
“I tell you what happens to teams – they evolve,” Jones said. “Some guys will lose desire, some guys will lose fitness, some guys will get injuries and there’ll be young guys come through. So this team is finished now. There will be a new team made. We’ll make a new team for the Six Nations and that new team for the Six Nations will be the basis of going to the next World Cup.'
Apparently the team at the weekend is the youngest to appear in a WC final so there won't be 15 new guys coming in but clearly a few are coming to the end. Are there particular areas or players jones will be looking at?
For me this bunch stand a decent chance in and around the squad to get more caps soon. Genge, Painter, Willis, Dombrandt, Smith, spencer, Robson and a outside chance of Mullins at full back.
Guys that are all young enough to be around for years to come but all with great potential. Perhaps not as good/proven as some who will step back but hugely talented.

There really is no need, plenty of honest hard working players not taking the piss that are available to pull on the Red Rose with pride.

Lets cut out the rottern core of the team and build something new and honest.
This is the time to do it, let these mercenaries runaway to France to earn a quick buck.

Being a chef by trade usually order a cheeky couple of kilos through our wholesalers around Xmas time for a treat.
Good cheese shops usually stock some though. IJ Mellis in Edinburgh is an excellent example of that.
My advice would be to spend a bit more on the bigger boxes though. Personal experience of the smaller boxes is that the rind is thicker and you're paying for that weight sadly. It's a washed rind so it is edible but not got much flavour.
Mont d'or from France is the more common Vacherin found in the UK but the Swiss Mont d'or is fantastic as well.

I suspect (excluding Prince B) that Blackadder would see himself as a 10. Now Flasheart always struck me as a Dayglo sort and would fit in at 8 - though perhaps he would want to be a bit closer to Bobbbbbbb

I guess Flasheart could make a good 13 as well. He'd have the showmanship required for BOD style passes to himself.
Perhaps Flasheart to 13, Buttler Blackadder at 10, Captain Blackadder at 7. Means dropping the Prince Regent but I have selected three Hugh Lauries currently...

So we're discounting saracens and bath players as they are both a set of cheats. Makes things more challenging.

Bath are no longer over the salary cap, they were given a warning but got their house in order, unlike Sarries who continued to break rules year after year.

I feel at fault for forcing Wainwright and Cartright into the centre together. Maybe Sgt Angel at 12 organising the defence and Gary King at 10 in the Finn Russell role.
I'll up my game for the next one. This guff is no more off topic that the rest of what's been posted in the last 2 hours.

Having Daffs on the right wing is a bit rubbish though. He simply wouldn't put in the effort. I would be more inclined to put Saxon on the wing, Steven Prince in at 15 and have Pete (pre-bite) at 8. He looks like a wrecking ball of a player

Re: Refreshed side
from article in telegraph. england stars to stay with Sarries after Jones and Gatland say England and Lions selection not an issue for established players even if they play in the Championship...
result for England and those players i would say. less good for up-and-comers at Saracens as they wont get the chance to showcase in the Championship.
"Saracens are confident of keeping hold of their frontline England stars despite their forthcoming relegation from the Premiership after holding crisis talks with Eddie Jones and Warren Gatland.
Both England head coach Jones and British and Irish Lions boss Gatland have told Saracens that they will continue select their proven performers such as Owen Farrell, Maro Itoje and the Vunipola brothers even though the club will be playing in the Championship next season following their punishment for breaching the salary cap.
“I think the international players had a very clear view on what they wanted to do, all of them,” Mark McCall, the Saracens director of rugby, said. “Luckily enough that coincided with what we wanted as well. I think Eddie is on the whole happy to select players who are established, Warren Gatland the same.”

Well effectively in the championship Saracens can rest most of their players.
Id be amazed if a few of them werent loaned out for a season to give them a bit of competitive rugby.

As i've said on another thread, I'd rather English club and International rugby spent the next 10 years rebuilding integrity and trust, losing everything, than take one 6N or WC fielding cheats and the corrupt system that has facilitated the cheating.

I would actually. I said without the cheats, and without a corrupt system.
There are plenty of young players out there who don't play for Saracens and who could fill their positions within the club and international game. It might be that with those replacements, English rugby hits a relative low for a long period of time, but at least it would be clean and the other '27' can either take it or leave it.

i love England's recent success built around the core of Saracens players, with Saracens ex-players like Borthwick on the coaching staff
couldnt care less what their club plays them
it shows the benefit to england of having a core group of players together. if that means you have to breach the salary cap, then the salary cap needs to be re-thought. fact.

Exactly, when it comes to international rugby I don't really care what happens at club level. As long as they players perform when called up that's all that matters.
