Billy Davies has just been sacked by Nottingham Forest according to our sources - Steve McLaren is in talks to takeover.

We're going to be up against one of our ex-managers next season.

If he can do as well at Forest as he did with us, they will be in the Premier League within the next couple of seasons...and our pursuit of promotion has just got that much harder.

Reckon its a shrewd move on the part of the Forest board. Been listening to TalkSport and can't understand the negative reaction by some of their fans. Is it because he was at Derby before?

I think it's a good move for both the club and McClaren. I would suspet the bad fan reaction is because of his time with England manager, which I think is a little unfair. Although it was obviously a very poor run, I'm not sure he was ever cut out for international management and hopefully after he has resurrected his career in Holland he will have a bit more confidence now to do well with Forest.

I think it's because a lot of people only think about what he did with the England job.He's got a 50/50 record in management I would say, Successful at Boro and Twente, unsuccessful with England and Wolfsburg. So the pattern would suggest Forest are in for a good run with him!
