Tompkins is being shown as a massive weakness...
Bumped off twice, sat down once and now panicked into being stepped for the try!

Probably the worst conversion attempt of Sexton's career!

I thought wales chose to have the wind behind them?
How are Ireland's kicks 15m plus longer?

Re: Ireland vs Wales - Six Nations Round 2
This is exactly what we didn’t want to do, allow ireland all the possessions and territory. Now our most potent scorer is going off.

Beautiful try. Ireland pay for a lack of ruthlessness.

So it begins, Poite giving Ireland scrums that they collapse.

Re: Ireland vs Wales - Six Nations Round 2
Wales strike from their first real spell of possession. Ireland may rue not making more of their territory and possession so far. Pass possibly a bit forwards but not clear and obvious ...

Good try Ireland.
Thought Thomkins a bit lucky with the first try, definitely a hand/arm around the neck when he cut back inside

Re: Ireland vs Wales - Six Nations Round 2
Well a cagey old first half, with neither side getting away from the other.
The wind does not seem to have been a huge factor yet, it looked pretty even really. Ireland are meant to have it behind them in the second half.

Re: Ireland vs Wales - Six Nations Round 2
Well, whatever the score, it was the best, most diverse little half from Ireland in quite a while. So finally something promising seems to beckon....
Of course forward based certainty is kinda being sacrificed to service the looser way. But that's what it's all about - balance.

Could be a big factor if the rain arrives as now expected in the 2nd half.

Happy enough
Ireland not making the most of the positions they are getting in
But much improved from last week

Nice first half. some good passage of play from both sides.
Ireland slightly in front, but second half will tell, if is Ireland or Wales on track for a Grand Slam or not.
