There’s no depth in the Irish line. Get the ball flat with no one hitting it at pace

North still on, should be playing Centre considering how many points they put on Italy. World class player.

I imagine the excuses will be rolling out later by certain North apologists. Should have left him at 13 or outside of the 23.

Proper hammering this. Well impressed with Ireland managing to not just win but to win with a bonus point and with style.

Re: Ireland vs Wales - Six Nations Round 2
Not much has changed under Farrell, Ireland’s limited rugby still relies heavily on a ref interpretation. Be interesting to see the reaction here when that comes unstuck. Wales deserve to lose with this poor and narrow defence, Hayward stealing a living again.

Romain poite has been a disgrace, he's argued with Stander and sexton for 30 mins, Ireland should've conceded a penalty try early in the 2nd half...

A lot has changed once you open the other eye. Much more going on in the backline. Wales not able to cope with it with the number of line breaks and metres made.

Hard to feel sorry for Wales when you benefitted from a decade of Barnes.

That’s also true, and I put that in part down to our weird defensive structure.
Well done Ireland

Re: Ireland vs Wales - Six Nations Round 2
shocking game management and errors but Wales could have edged this. 2 pens at 55 and 60 Wales went for scrum and lineout when they should have taken 3 with Half on the pitch. Would have been 19-13 with 20 left......but they wasted 3 minutes and gave up the scrum, momentum and then another try. AwJ had a shocker.

Excellent result Ireland. Wales just couldn’t cope with that onslaught and a lot more enterprise from Ireland.
Big game to prepare for now against England and then hopefully onward to a grand finale against France.

Ireland won that game as they just didn’t let wales have the ball
Be interesting to see the stats but I’d go 70% possession at least for Ireland

Ireland 54% possession. From the stats Wales did sod all with the ball when they had it. Most meters run was Dan Biggar with 37!

Me not sure about that, didn't see anything, but on field decision is try!
Also roman Poite: there no issue with the touch down, on field decision no try

Re: Ireland vs Wales - Six Nations Round 2
Ireland win in sticky, staggering 2nd/3rdish gear. Good signs being seen about where Farrell seems to be wanting to go but of course these players at International have reflexive memories of how they've played for the last number of years. It will need more practice to let any new ideas gel both on the training ground and then in games.
But quite good to make Wales look limited and impotent. That's not a sneer at a team I always respect and fear as competitors, that's saying it takes a good performance to beat Wales with stuttering ease. I mean we really are all over the place at times so if we tighten things up.... promising

They've conceded the game already to save their players - so terrified are they of the Green Tidal Wave! - or is that piddle trickle?

BTW....early sign too of Wales post-Gats in second half. Don't think that would have been how Wales played in a second half under Gatland and Edwards. So interesting game for interested observers.

Not really. Poite clearly said he had no idea, then said it had been sent up as a try. Stander should have got yellow. Awful ref.

Wales fan here.
Congrats Ireland- deserved win based on the performance of both sides.
We just seemed to lack any imagination on the rare occasion we got the ball, and didn't seem to know how to pressurise Ireland when they had possession.
