Underhill and Curry have been outstanding so far. They are a pairing that could challenge Hill and Back given experience.

Our break down has broken down.
We’re simply not getting the ruck before the English do

Re: Scotland V England - The Calcutta Cup
Lineout a shambles, breakdown a shambles, kicking game non existent - literally the opposite of how to play in this weather

Re: Scotland V England - The Calcutta Cup
England are making yards ball in hand. I understand kicking in these conditions but England are playing well enough to go through a few phases.

Re: Scotland V England - The Calcutta Cup
England are just playing simply basic rugby. Correct way to play in these conditions
Scotland are not
Slow to the breakdown. Losing the kicking game (even though we have the wind). Second best in the collision.
Pretty awful stuff

Scotland were offside a lot in those last few passages. Where’s that Offside Scot who always complains about it?

Offside by Scotland missed there - ball came off a Scotland foot and grabbed by a player in front ...

Re: Scotland V England - The Calcutta Cup
England need to build some phases here. They look like a team just playing for half time and the change of ends but they should have taken more from the half.

They've kicked far too much away when they were making ground - hopefully when they have the wind they will keep the pressure on more.

Wasn't far away though. If Ford lands that then it doubles the lead and keep the scoreboard moving. It was worth a punt. I'd expect more of that this half when we have the wind. Get the scoreboard moving and make Scotland to take chances.

Re: Scotland V England - The Calcutta Cup
You'd expect this lead to slowly increase now. Playing against the conditions we are 3 in front wasn't expecting this. This is the leadership moment we talk about with england. We should win from here: do we?

Not the high scoring game i was hoping for. Still what with the rain and wind and the wet conditions. Lets hope the are more points to come in the second half.

Re: Scotland V England - The Calcutta Cup
I would like to see England try running it a bit this half, from the right areas of course. See if we can get some width on a narrow defense.
Guscott, great center, very poor everything else since.

Re: Scotland V England - The Calcutta Cup
The 6-2 bench split for England could have an impact here. They can effectively put an entirely fresh tight 5 on with 25-30 minutes left.

Nice break from the prop but a clear forward pass from the base of the subsequent ruck ...
