Wales vs France - Round 3 “Redemption”
First topic message reminder :
Getting your backside kicked and realising your faults can make you a far better and stronger team. Should you go on for a lengthy period without teams finding the flaws in your game you are likely to get a big surprise one day when said period ends..!
Ireland played really well last Saturday, they found flaws in wales defence and attack. I think we all knew our set piece hasn’t been world class but that has been the case for a long time.
Next we face the French, now one of only two teams who can claim a grandslam should their winning run continue and they look pretty handy. They neither look like the french teams of old, Sella, Penaud, Blanco and St Andre nor do they look like the recent sides of Vahmina, Basteraud and an endless stream of different flyhalfs.
Both teams are new to their coaches, both teams are looking to push on from their past and polish their game. France look better than this time last year, Wales maybe not so much...!
Sure going to be a great game.

That's clearly not the same as 'I will now punish Wales in any 50:50 scrums'. Come on!guestalt_physicality wrote:"To explain myself again, I'm saying that if he gets a 50/50 call, I think it may indeed cross his mind that one side has accused the other of cheating, and that the other hasn't felt the need to do so. "
I cannot see the misrepresentation myself.
Happy to leave it as it didn't even need to be started.

This could be a cracker of a match. I'd love to see France really turn up in Cardiff for once. It's been a while!

Just cant see it. France took advantage of an undercooked england and still could have easily drawn the match. Cant see beyond a very comfortable no scares wales win.

France will have two purple patches. Wales should be ready to marmalise them during their three of four lethargic periods. It's simples........

Both teams ‘failed to turn up’ at their last meeting in Cardiff 2018. France were edged out by one point in a very forgettable match.
Today’s encounter has got to be better fare surely?

It should fare a lot better than the recent Scotland v England encounter.

I don't really remember the game from 2 years ago, but a slug-fest is usually the best way to beat teams that are big up front like France and SA. The recent Scotland vs England game was far worse in my opinion.
I don't recall who the ref was either. I only take issue with French ref's who either don't know the laws, and seemingly like to pick their own winner some time into the first half. When it comes to ref-blaming we usually see a lot of it from certain English posters when Wales are playing. We don't even have to playing against England either. I remember this thread where Trev and co were quite embarrassing

I don’t really have time to converse with inferior people, but if this is another Wales thread that you have to denigrate in order to save your fragile ego, then I suggest you move on. Otherwise it’s another holiday .

In case anyone's interested...
Cardiff is busy, but subdued. It's not excited, it's nervous! I've been here for a huge amount of important games, and this might be the worst atmosphere I've been involved with.

France have their attacking flair back, and their defence is now good, we’re struggling with that. Their big guys keep flopping over the breakdown and disorganising us, do it if you keep getting away with it I guess.
