That's 5 points thrown away by sexton, unless you include the 7 he gifted England...

Gotta say, Joseph has looked good today, granted it's all been on front foot ball, but still.

Re: Eng V Ireland Sunday 23rd Feb 2020
It’s as I said. Ireland aren’t that good unless they can con the officials. They haven’t today; they’re finally getting pinged at the scrum, and Stander and POM are actually getting pinged for their routine breakdown offences. Without the possession they struggle to get into it. The officials have been good today, up until the moment they backed their fellow South African CJ Stander, should have been a penalty reversal at least, he did strike two players after all.

He does have a bit of a point, ireland scrum were very lucky against wales, as they were at the breakdown.
It makes sense that those a3e the 2 areas they are struggling with this week

It's very simple. England are the better team. Nothing to do with the ref

Farrell is very lucky there, he's gone straight into that maul from the side and in front of the ball carrier...

Tmo is rubbish. That try was from a flying wedge and should have been ruled out. 6 of 1 and half a dozen I suppose though.

You cant carry the ball being supported by a player each side. Ireland have escaped there again with a no arm borderline late tackle.

He did, in front of ball carrier, who peeled around his back.
Some very poor decisions this year, at least a lot of them are coming from New inexperienced refs, can't claim that here tho

It gets a bit annoying when they can do it every time under french officials. It’s like watching re-runs of Craig Joubert. Wales have had the short straw this year for sure.
Itoje is very good today.

Ireland's performance today has been like Wales yesterday, despite knowing exactly what's coming, they've played into the defenses hands for no reason.

If the try had been ruled out for that, I wouldn't have been surprised. It happened in a test a few seasons ago, when backs joined the maul, not knowing what they were doing.Dirtydave wrote:Fan

Haven’t seen who the ref is Heaf?
Good point on Ireland. This looks like the previous 3 games against England, they haven’t figured it out and haven’t been able to rely on a French ref.

Open warfare so far. Smashing Curry at the breakdown, punching Farrell, late no arms hit on May - all fine and above board according to the officials.

Think he's the TMO in the England v Aus match that claimed a pass that went at least 3 yards forwards wasn't clear and obvious and had to be overruled by the ref to avoid handing a try to Aus.

Well at least your not fighting the punch angle! It was a number of open hand pushes, a slap doesn't involve the arm, and prolonged contact.

England have been very very good.
Ireland have looked lost for a lot of it, due to England's pressure, but as has been said it's not like it wasn't expected.

I don't actually think there is a lot of difference between what he did and a punch, but they were not technically punches.
Stander has played like an idiot though. Ireland have got away with a lot of crap
