Anyone here play Fight Night Champion?
Im normally good at PS3 games but this one is rock. I even gotta play the champion mode on amateur because I cant get past my first professional fight on pro difficulty. As I say im normally good on PS3 games on EA MMA I havnt lost a fight yet (13-0-0) on career mode normal difficulty. Good game but who made it so hard

Re: Anyone here play Fight Night Champion?
it is very difficult steffan, i was outboxing Pacquiao with Bradley using the ring well basically running like Usain Bolt, and he caught me in the 7th and knocked Bradley spark out, stopped Judah, Ortiz with Bradley earlier though.

Re: Anyone here play Fight Night Champion?
I play on Pro and win all of my fights by KO. Move it up a level however and I seem to lose the majority of fights on points. Everything I throw just gets countered and I dont have the time to master the game, so I move it back to pro.
One trick I have learnt is to flick the left analog stick (back, left or right) when your opponent is about to throw and come back with a straight right. If your boxer has power quite often this will daze/drop the other fighter.

Re: Anyone here play Fight Night Champion?
I play on the standard difficulty. Never had a fight go the distance. I think scoring knockouts is far too easy in the game. I struggled a bit like you Steffan to start with. Best advise I could give is work behind the jab to wear them down. I usually tap square as I'm moving in close, then finish with a big right hand.
Haye vs Wlad is a great fight to have on it. Both are quite chinny, but Haye has the heart of a lion, I've picked him off the canvas 4 times before and beat my mate, who had only been down twice.

Haye has the stamina of a OAP, or an American Heavyweight.

Re: Anyone here play Fight Night Champion?
I play on the normal difficulty and find it quite easy. Once I put up the difficulty its ten times as hard normally resulting in me getting knocked out or losing on points. I struggle to work behind a solid jab which I would do in FNR4 and I would say you get countered way too much on this one. Good game but makes you p'eed of at times.
Re: Anyone here play Fight Night Champion?
How annoying was Isaac Frost took me about half a day to finally beat him!! do any of you guys play online? It's quite fun, although all the kids on there want to do is throw haymakers until they knock you down, I beat a guy using SRR (who OS an absolute beast) with SRL by working off the backfoot until his stamina got low enough that I could finally drop him only to get a barrage of hatemail on my inbox calling me a Cat and saying I couldn't box... Nice chap.

Re: Anyone here play Fight Night Champion?
I actually find it quite easy - I played the champion mode on amateur and pro then started my first legacy on mode with sweet pea. Finished as GOAT unbeaten. On with my second legacy mode on Champion level with Donaire. Again finding it very easy. Unified the division and about to move up a division. All fights won via KO.
If you have a longer reach then jab jab straight. I tend to stay in front of them, block and lean and then counter. Then move in with the jab.
Countering is the key - once you stun them - move in for the kill. Most of my fights usually last about 3 rounds. I had a fight that lasted 7 rounds but that was cos i messed up my training and went in with 50% stamina!
On the training - choose the big bear camp always - you get more XP per training. When you are training - choose Open Sparring or Defensive Specialist - very easy to get Champion level. The only time I would say not to choose Open Sparring is when you are about to fight a counter puncher - your sparring partners will mimic your next opponents style so they just stay on their bike so very hard to pin them down.
When you apply your stats points - depending on your type of boxer - I apply them on Jab, Straight, Right Hook and Left Hook, Combinations, Blocking, Chin and Heart. I dont bother with any of the body stats - but that depends on your boxer and fight style.
Dont forget to add your boosts when you unlock them. Always keep blocking and leaning and it will be very hard for them to hit you. Keep in mind your block effectiveness will seriously weaken after you have blocked 4-5 times, so move back, drop your guard and move back in.
I never ever use power shots or haymakers - you will do much more damage with a nicely timed counter punch. If you keep blocking and leaning - you can see when they are about to throw a power shot to your head - lean and then the counter window will open - smash a left hook in. Works everytime, and you can also follow it up with a couple more hooks before you need to move back.
Hope that helps!

My Gym is called ap's or alfredperami's i cant remember but i need more members (due to losing 10 or so when the psn was down) and could really do with a few middle weights to have a good online league going let me know if any are up for it my ID believe it or no is alfredperami on PSN.

Re: Anyone here play Fight Night Champion?
i was thinking about buying it, but after playing the demo it just seemed like all you have to do is wing your punches in and hope for a knockout. im getting abit tired of fnr4 now. is the full game better . i bought fnr2 for the ps2 which was great then i took fnr3 back the next day, just didn't like it loved fnr4 so do you think its worth me buying the new one or will i be taking it back straight away

Re: Anyone here play Fight Night Champion?
i found it quite easy so far, beat frost first time without too much problem.
my legacy fighter is unbeaten with a record of 32-0-0 (32), i just trained up his hooks, left hook right hook both top rating aswell as chin and heart and power of 100. doesnt take long to knock oppenent out with a good counter hook. i do usually through alot of power shots, just have to time it right.
knocked tyson out with my first punch 3 seconds into the fight the other day. not had it long and havnt tried it on the harder levels yet but agree with others thats its the best so far.
my only problem is the roster, who the hells wants arreloa, morrison in heavyweight when they havnt got louis or johnsen. they got manfredo but no mayweather!! other than heavy, welter and middle there isnt much point in having the other weight catergories. only four light heavyweights!!! werent archie moore or spinks good enough?

That's part of the fun. Usually when me and a mate pick fighters, it is quite easy to see who will win. But when I go Haye and he goes Wlad, it really is a genuine 50/50.

I know - I was disappointed when every boxer I wanted to select was part of a DLC.
Even worse news - most of the trophies/achievements are unlocked using these fighters.
EA = Greedy Barstewards!!

yeah but at least its not normally a add on to the game, expansion packs and so on. ea are now purposly making this game poorer so people will buy the dlc. they could have easily put a better roster on, but chose to rip there fans off, its not like they spin these games out year to get enough money out of us, oh wait........

It's how the games companies make their money now, disk sales alone generally don't cover development costs and its a way to generate income from preowned games sales. Annoying but necessary evil from their POV I guess. You can dl famed made versions of a lot of boxers for free and some of these are pretty good. Have been tempted to buy the extra HW's has anybody else got the extra fighters?

yeah i've got the HW leg-ends pack its well worth it if you play the head to head mode a lot,but if you dont use it all that much i wouldnt bother. TBH i tend to use my own boxer did the face capture thing i look a little like a crack head. after a slow start im now up to something like 48-29 with about 40 KOs its the best bit of the game for me, you get loads of mouthy kids that like to swing punches and little else telling you you will be getting KOd only to puff out after 1 and drop like flys.

Looks a bit better on the old Spectrum if you ask me. I remember everyone had Spectrum +2 or a Commodore 64 and we were flashy as f**k with our Spectrum +3. Everyone thought my family was loaded because of that but it was just that my brother decided one term to spend his university grant on one rather than down the betting shop for a change
