The COVID 19 Culture Cup - Results
Well, that was the virus that was. We've had lockdown, we've had poetry, we've had Tina, but it's all over now and the country is saved, thanks to organised institutions like Barnard Castle and the Culture Cup. Thank god that's all over and we can return to normal now, the threat to life finished, Tina hopefully a thing of the past.
May I add a huge congratulations to anyone who scored a zero in any round - truly showing the integrity not to vote for yourself - and say how much we have all enjoyed some of the new entrants to CC folklore. Who knew people from the rugby boards could provide anything useful to society? Further mentions to Alfie, who has truly taken to the spirit of picking things that interest him and not anyone else, and Jules, who is on a hot streak of brilliance in all lines of work.
But, results need to be provided. Using the CC's new and world beating track and trace process. I can now declare a winner.

Congratulations to the winner, a handsome man who proves that being unemployed during a lockdown gives you the chance to truly succeed in life. A letter is in the post to Rishi to demand a furlough backlog as reward.
Hopefully we shan't wait too long to meet again. With Tina now sometimes alive, maybe the true host of the CC can show us all how it's done. Gracias, mis amigos

Delighted to come second. It's basically first because of the obvious questions marks over the organiser winning it.

Indeed Beer. I am also delighted to have won the bronze medal following Flipper's disqualification.
It's a highly unexpected honour. The only thing I was certain of was that I would finish ahead of Galted, who, let's face it, is a renowned loser.
Many thanks to Flipper for running the whole thing - very enjoyable. Tino himself couldn't have done a better or slower job, had he been alive from the start.

A much deserved Bronze as well. I can only imagine Dolph would've run a behind scenes smear campaign to discredit you as he did me.

Congrats, Flipper. That was certainly the slowest competition I've ever been involved in.
Gloat all you want Julius, your victory is only one of vulgarity over sophistication. Would never have happened if we had a better quality of poster on these boards.

I didn't want to win, it's a sign of being in tune with this community.

Bugger, that extra point killed me in the end. "12" was always my desired target. So it's back to the drawing board for me.
Thanks for organising this, Flipper. The real time suspense was palpable.
I hope your ship sails soon....

Silver medal in the tea society mini comp.
I never voted for myself as I often forgot what I put due to the length of the rounds, in true CC style.

It just mirrors life!
The man at the top got there through power mongering horseplay.
The man at the bottom will be forgotten about in the history books.
I, as usual, finish above average (it's like my school results all over again) and my rightful place as being intellectually superior to Jimbo who sits bang in the middle of average has been confirmed.

tigertattie, boasting about being slightly above average.
Your falsely elevated position is the result of some Tammany Hall style Gerrymandering allied with a large element of the 606 sympathy vote, "Poor tiger! having to watch the Luvvies lose every other week in a nine tenths empty stadium AND still ending every sentence with, "We've got a castle you know. Did I mention that?".
I realise my "average" placing was solely due to the fact that I misunderstood the raison d'etre of the competition: don't be too "clever" or "obscure" just list the most obvious and populist items in each category and the less imaginative (football and cricket types....yes Call Me Guilford, I'm looking at you) will say "Oh yeah, I watched/read/smelled/scratched that. I really must vote for him. After voting for myself. Again."
No I'm not bitter.
Not at all.
No I'm not.
I'll be back.

Now now Arnie, its just a game!
Just in the same way as the 1872 cup is just a game. A game where we routinely spank your mob with ease! A spanking as regular as the Monkey in lockdown times!
To cheer yourself up, why dont you go read about the latest signing news for the warriors.
oh wait.................
PS, the second last round of political manoeuvring resulted in a tie so ultimately my triumph was a result of my superiorness (I may have just made this word up) in other rounds

Probably not postponed - Dolphin just takes a while to get these things started and struggles to maintain momentum. Give him a chance. Still, he's better at it than Tina was, even back when Tina was alive.
