Springboks vs Georgia warm up match
Georgia started well and scored three penalty goals due to ill discipline from the Boks conceding 7 penalties in the first half.
Aphilile Fassi had a very good debut scoring a try when Pieter Steph du Toit released him about 40 meters out, Fassi ran down the sideline with a good turn of pace beating two defenders and finishing well in the corner. He missed his first tackle but then did well there after, was solid under the high ball and was looking for work.
Pieter Steph du Toit got through a lot of work, making some barn storming, great offloads, line breaks and a menace on defence.
Pollard had a solid game.
The other two debutants Nche and Wiese (came on at the 60 minute mark) had solid debuts.
The Lions would hope to play against Elton Jantjies, he was crap to say the least, stuffed a huge overlap with a pathetic pass, his cross kicks were over kicked, he rushed a penalty kick to the side line and not kick it out, his general passing very inaccurate.
Boks picked up momentum at the thirty minute mark and finshed the first half with two tries, Mbonambi going over from a maul and Kwagga Smith round the scrum five meters out.
Second half the Boks played with good intensity and the passes started to stick, they scored another three tries to finish 40-9 up.
Overall the scrums were solid, starting to dominate when Malherbe, Marx and Kitshoff came on.
Boks lost one line out.
Georgia played well, they had intensity for the full 80, and defensively very physical.
Frans Steyn has lost pace, lost posession in the tackle twice, not a starter anymore.
Reinach scored the try of the match when Pollard decided to run out of the Bok 22, Jesse Kriel broke through a tackle, offloaded to Fassi who collected the ball from behind as he almost overran it, then chipped for Reinach to collect and score under the posts.
Overall a decent run out for the Boks

That's a pretty good score for a rusty side!

Not bad, could have been more though, with Jantjies on we blew at least one definite chance, possibly one more

Great to see Jasper Weise make his debut. Become a bit of a talisman since he came to Welford Road and has worked hard to improve. Very humble guy, seemed genuinely surprised when he won player of the month and new player of the year awards at the club this season.

Same. As a player he's generally been on the outside forcing his way in so that should only make him push harder.
Do SA have anymore friendlies pre the Lions games?

I'm sure that as soon as the European Championships are over the arse-end of the British media will begin the normal onslaught with regards to how noble and honourable the B&I Lions are and how the oppressed masses of Aus/NZ/SA (delete as applicable) are pinning their very existence on the Lions destroying the evil host nation who are nothing but thugs and cheats and bullies.
Doesn't really feel like the tour's started until we get to this stage.
