Some interesting performances in the first half. A few people well out of reckoning putting their hands up. A few favourites playing pretty anonymously.

Thought Hill has had an excellent first half as well BG. Really good at rucks.

Smith has barely had the ball in attack, but his rucking and tackling have been excellent

Doesn't really look that settled when he has touched it. Pretty underwhelming from Smith so far but hopefully he'll grow into the game and show what he's all about in the second half.
Price has been excellent so far for the Lions and is the man pulling the strings. The flankers are a great combination and a cut above. Could easily be the starting 6 and 7 with Curry on the bench and Lawes covering lock and openside.
Stormers are proving a physical test but when the Lions have momentum they are opening them up.

I disagree. He had one wobbly high ball - which he managed to knock back while being tackled, but the other few touches he’s had have been tidy. Bryan Habana seems to agree with me.

Price doesn't seem keen on passing to Smith so far. Think he's only had 3 touches.
I assume thats not automatically Prices decision? I know when Price plays with russell that Russell calls the shots and calls for the ball when he wants it

Given the amount of grief Farrell got for kicking shall we say its down to Price?

Or do the age old trick of blaming Gatland when the players don’t do exactly what you want them to do!

Of course the team has tactics laid out by the coaching team. A player playing sh*t isn’t automatically because the coach is making that player play sh*t.

And that, my friends, is what Smith can do given the chance in attack. That try was straight out of the Quins playbook.

No. I can guarantee you Gatland did not tell him to kick like a moron. That was all Farrell’s own doing.

The really sad this is that you would love him to get injured just so you can say to everyone ‘I told you so’! It’s so telegraphed! And anti-rugby.
Anyway, on with the game……

Nigel made a mistake though - he called advantage over AFTER the forward pass so should have gone back to the pen ...
