Yep Livingstone/Moeen's overs the key here now - NZ need to go hard at them

So nine behind England at halfway. Only two down but they don't bat as deep so they'll need a lot from these and the next two players.
Wonder if we will see Moeen soon ?

Re: World T20 discussion thread
Good news for NZ is Conway and Mitchell are still there. Bad news is the required rate is steep at 10.9. We know it's tough for a batsman to get going right from ball one, so wickets lost with the rate this high could be fatal.

Re: World T20 discussion thread
Wood continues with his third. So the death configuration is set as two Jordan and one each from the two Ws .
And 12-16 will be all spin. NZ will need a few from them...

NZ on the charge now... Fifteen off that over. Just five less than England after 11.

Getting to the point now where England need a wicket. Top over for NZ off of Wood, but only 7 from Livingstone's follow-up.

Re: World T20 discussion thread
Livingstone doing a good job : so will we see an over from Moeen just for flexibility?
Rashid back and he's not the easiest to target. Just the same I think England would like another wicket or two. Not going to be easy for new batsmen...
Air Jordan nearly saves a six . But NZ are still well in this at 92/2 and seven overs left.
More Livingstone so Moeen seems to have the night off.
Got him ! Well bowled...Jos will never get an easier stumping . Needed that.

Re: World T20 discussion thread
Brilliant from Livingstone, who has been trusted today, as he darts one past Conway. Good change, good bowling, England comfortable again.
Jordan's fielding effort earlier was astonishing, unlucky not to save it.

Re: World T20 discussion thread
Huge wicket for Livingstone in the context.
NZ would have been eyeing just under 60 from the last 5. With two set batsman, then Phillips and Neesham to come that wouldn't be out the question with England's iffy death bowling.
Breaking that partnership was very important there I think.

Great over from Livingstone; but NZ are only three runs less than England were after 14 so I'm not calling this yet.
Phillips can hit . Change of plan here with Wood to bowl out early...interesting.

Another ropey day for Wood. Mills injury doesn’t make it a decision if he would play in the final (if England make it) but it doesn’t bode well.

Yes, Wood started well, but faded. Would prefer to see him used in one over bursts.
Livingstone gets another! That's a potentially dangerous hitter removed, no way Billings drops that in the deep.

Re: World T20 discussion thread
Twelve per over needed from the last five. Still tight.
Livingstone again Phillips won't be hitting any sixes tonight...
Neesham and Mitchell really need to do most of it now. Big ask.

Superb over from Livingstone...despite the wide. I'll let him off that.
Will Morgan chance Moeen with Neesham there?
Over 12s from here. England really shouldn't lose from this position.

Brilliant stuff from Livingstone
Two important wickets ... and a three run over in the 16th ! Surely he's just won England the game ?

Brilliant from Livingstone. What an addition he's been.
Phillips hasn't been in form but still so important to get as he can score extremely quick.

That's a very poor first ball from Jordan. Practically a throw down for range hitting!
Jordan has been good in the tournament so far. England need him to stand up at the death without Archer or Mills.

Re: World T20 discussion thread
This is where England really miss Archer. Horror first half of the over from Jordan.
But that may be the greatest catch in cricketing history...no it's six. Kiwis back in it. It's Boult in the WC final reversed.

Someone stands on the rope whilst taking a catch. We get it. It’s the same teams at 2019.
That was a lot trickier than Boult’s though!

Good last ball at least, but NZ back in it. England need further wickets to win it now.
Jordan surely can't bowl another after sending that down?

Both sides built a platform then were looking for that one huge over. England didn't quite find it but NZ just have.

Not taking that single is exactly why this NZ side is so damn likable.
Next ball out the park too. Neesham has taken it away.
Missed run out chance. Oh dear.
England's only chance is wickets now.

Stunning from the Black Caps.
Really feel sorry for Jordan, he has been excellent all tournament but that over has just given the Black Caps all the momentum.

England back in it as Neesham plonks a rank delivery to Morgan. Nearly slipped out.
Who on earth bowls 19 and 20? Woakes now to get further wickets?

Neesham gone. Definitely still NZs to lose but it's a glimmer of light for England.

England lose a game they were certain to win. Jordan's horror over cost England, left Woakes too much to do in the 19th. Shocking turn-around.

Yep our fears about England’s death bowling come home to roost - shocking over by Jordan, slot balls literally every delivery and this from Woakes hasn’t been any better.
Fair play to Neesham and Mitchell

Re: World T20 discussion thread
England's weak death bowling finally telling. Mills was so important once Archer got ruled out.
They were definitely 10-15 runs short of where they should have got to with the bat after a good platform was set.
It's the death bowling that has lost this though.

From England's perspective, maybe felt the loss of Roy and Mills a bit? But in this format, it's gonna be tight margins, and they haven't played badly, just NZ had Neesham to play the game changing innings
