I genuinely believe that Dragons are due to wallop somebody and unfortunately it looks like it’s Munster that will have to suffer it. In Dean we trust.

Connacht is a bit do or die for Edinburgh in my eyes. Three losses in a row to Ospreys, Leinster and Munster with only 1 point to show has really hurt them. The Ospreys loss in particular should never have happened and could be costly.

Of the other six remaining games, they include Glasgow x 2, an away trip to the Sharks and Lions, and home to Zebre and Ulster. The only comfortable game is Zebre. That could easily be as low as 8 points total and that won't be enough to make the playoffs. A win against Connacht would probably be enough to ensure they stay above them at the end of the season.

Glasgow have the chance to do Edinburgh a favour as well. A win against the Scarlets should end their hopes of getting past Edinburgh in the table though the remaining schedule for the Scarlets is fairly soft.

Ulster team v Cardiff

(15-9) Stewart Moore Robert Baloucoune, James Hume, Stuart McCloskey, Ben Moxham, Billy Burns, Nathan Doak;

(1-8) Andrew Warwick, John Andrew, Marty Moore, Alan O’Connor, Iain Henderson (Capt.), Jordi Murphy, Marcus Rea, Nick Timoney.

Replacements: Tom Stewart, Jack McGrath, Gareth Milasinovich, Sam Carter, Duane Vermeulen, John Cooney, Ian Madigan, Aaron Sexton.

Interetsing that Stewart Moore is at fullback, he is normally a centre

Nothing easy about Scarlets run in....2 derby games away from home. They have Stormers at home final match and they have given everyone a game in the league away from home.

In all honesty - Scarlets season for top 8 playoffs is all but gone with a loss this weekend. Given they couldn't beat Connacht at home last week I can't see them beating Glasgow even with home advantage.

Edinburgh's fixture list for this part of the season was always going to show where they are in the league. If they really want to compete they will need to win those home games. Probably the game of the weekend though, lot riding on it for both teams.

Cardiff look strong on paper except where it counts (front five). If Cardiff do win this it could spell bad news for Connacht's HC qualifications depending on their result with Edinburgh.

Ospreys should be banking 5 points this weekend.

Sharks looking really good now to make the playoffs. 7 home games in a row and with the last an away to Ulster. They have 2 games in hand on Connacht and are only 2 points behind them. They only really have Leinster going over there that can potentially win there.

They could even make the top 4 and get a home draw if they win all the home games by a margin.

Stormers are in the same boat although they are 4 points behind. Think they would be happy with a top 8 finish as most of their home games are against better opposition compared to Sharks run in.

If both win most of those home games I dont think it even matters what Connacht end up on points wise.

Ulster get a thumping 48-12 win after the referee rules out a try at the end which would have taken it over 50. I personally think it was backwards out of the hands and kind of sounded like the referee didn't know the rules the way she was explaining it but none the less a huge victory for Ulster

Any neutrals watching the game? Obviously as an Ulster supporter I agree with Neil (and the TMO) that the hands were backwards and the try should stand, but would appreciate a neutral view. Although the referee is always right Very Happy

It looked like that from Cardiff. The big break since their last game certainly did them no favours. Do they actually train together? The knock on from the tapped penalty in front of the Ulster posts was Shocked

I think it was backwards although it was close, it was more the refs explanation when talking to the TMO (who said it was backwards) that confused me as she didn't seem to know about the backwards out of the hands part of the rule and was just going by where it landed.
