Re: France vs England
Randall's fkrst pass is behind Smith who's run then takes him behind the rest of his backline. Shambles. Luckily we had advantage.
Get Ford on, Smith is having an off day.

England supporters can only hope France score a hatful and Jones is sacked and we see a team with decent coaches and the best players playing in their best positions and don't see some players ever again i.e. Furbank, Daly and Youngs.

France have been very smart with that rule change throughout the tournament. Classic Edwards style thinking

Not sure he was over the line there - should have allowed England to get the ball back ...

There were a few England forwards asking that.

Scrum question for any forwards on here. I always thought you add more weight and power at 8 than flanker?

I dont hope for that....
The boys have given France a proper game like they did Ireland last week.
A few tweaks for the summer tour and England might be a different proposition....

Re: France vs England
Imagine if we'd gone into this with some fast wingers a solid full back who knows they can't put their foot in touch when catching a ball and an inside centre and decent scrum half. Jones wants kicking.

Jones wants properly hauling over the coals for that. Both a winnable game and a winnable tournament.

Re: France vs England
Congratulations to France, clearly the better team this6ns and well deserved Grand slam winners.
England gave it their best shot of their performance this tournament, but just not good enough to beat France at home. First Grand Slam in 10 years or so.

France were the better team regardless of potential knock ons. When Dupont and Ntamack get chances they usually take them.
Congratulations France. A fantastic team that seem to be getting better. Ollivon and Vakatawa to return. They could be something very special at the 2023 RWC.

Examples of one as poor as that which handed the opposition a try?
It's possible to rate Smith and notice he had an abject game.

Well done France, very deserved winners of the GS
England turned up and played well. They needed to as they might have been blown out of the stadium if not.

Don't be silly, it's still Fords fault we don't have an attack even with Smith at 10.

Re: France vs England
I don't think it handed them a try. That's like beshocked saying Nowells dropped high ball cost England a try. Plenty happens after that that could have stopped it. Including Youngs stepping out and letting them make the final break.king_carlos wrote:No 7&1/2 wrote:Give over. I wouldn't be surprised if Jones goes. Unsure who would take over though. I don't think Baxter wants it. McCall has just taken a break for his health. Borthwick is inexperienced at the top job. Most big overseas coaches will have their contracts setup to run with the RWC cycle.

So to sum up it handed them prime attacking possession that resulted in a try a few phases later. Splendid.

Re: France vs England
Smith needs to learn how to take the ball flat, stop crabbing across the pitch and shovelling poor ball on to his centres. Didn’t make any space for his Slade et al over the course of the tournament. Not sure he’s a 10. He’d make a super 9 though.

Would be interesting to see Genges meters made in the end.
