Presume Kerr-Barlow is injured, big loss for La Rochelle and shame we can't see the two Kiwi 9s face off.
No Victor Vito as well, ouch big player to miss against Leinster who look fully stacked. Think this one's going to go the way of the boys in Blue.

La Rochelle are not winning this game unless they sort out their discipline.

Try La Rochelle, they are staying in the game. Hopefully that settles them down.

Hardly any sides have put Leinster under any real pressure this season when they have been at full strength. If La Rochelle can kjeep the pressure on them it could put them in a place they are not used to being in.

Re: Champions Cup Final 2022
Wayne Barnes refusing to reward that dominant scrum before Leinster win the next one could be crucial allowed them to go up the other end and grab another three.
Aldritt desperately needs to get Barnes onside and get his players to adapt to how the game is being reffed. Their poor discipline is really allowing Leinster an easy in to the game.

A second try and conversion makes it 18-17 Leinster with 20 mins to go.

Sheer stupidity from the La Rochelle player who does a silly trip and gets a card.

Re: Champions Cup Final 2022
Leinster must be grinning at their luck. First the La Rochelle player manages to dot the ball down from the rolling maul so Doris doesn't go to the bin and they concede a penalty try and then the moronic play by the La Rochelle 4 gives them an easy three points and a man advantage.

They are an excellent team - but do seem to have more than their fair share of luck too ... They certainly got away with some questionable calls against Tigers ... Even in this game they've had a couple of knock-ons not given against them whilst LR had one given that had clearly gone backwards.

Ohhh - that could cause some controversy - is it 60 seconds for a conversion or 90?

Re: Champions Cup Final 2022
Well it is easier said than done, but if you can put Leinster under that intense pressure they don't look quite the same side and they are not used to it.
Some reflection required in Dublin going forward.

Re: Champions Cup Final 2022
Well done to La Rochelle. Three tries to nil so I'd say they were deserved winners. Great day for the sport.
Think it's 90 seconds for a conversion, but they were trialling 60 seconds in (I think) the American league.
Certainly a lot easier to watch than the Toulon game yesterday.

Congratulations to la Rochelle
Deserved the win.
Have to say if a few of the Welsh supporters on twitter got behind their own teams with the same energy they put into celebrating an Irish loss, Welsh rugby would look a lot better.

To be fair, I’ve seen Sexton take about half an hour to take his kicks before. Saying that, it was a brutal match and a good advertisement for the game in the northern hemisphere. Well done to both teams.

Some one tell me why Barnes did not give a yellow card to any leinster player being off side on their own half in the last 5 minutes?

Going to have to say it, 8 points up, LaRochele miss a drop goal Sexton and then Keenan both have a chance to clear their line neither do, penalty LaRochelle, try LaRochelle game LaRochelle.Harsh I know but that was the losing of it for me.

Probably the same reason he didn't did give a yellow card to La Rochelle for repeat infringements in the first half. And I don't know why that was either. At least he was consistent.
Definitely karma on the time taken over the kick at the end. Sexton has always been a master at using up the time for a kick.
Disappointed for Leinster, pleased for La Rochelle.

Very happy with that result. La Rochelle is a beautiful city with a real family feel to the club.....Great to see them get their name on the trophy.

Yeah good game and La Rochelle deserved the win. Leinster got it wrong or maybe didnt show enough ambition. Rog will be delighted and rightly so. Quality to see two Irish coaches duke it out in the final.
Think Barnes gave Leinster the rub of the green. Maybe Leinster can get that 5th star in Dublin instead next year.

I was very pleased for La Rochelle in the end the better on the day scoring 3 tries. Would have been a shame if the had lost the game.

Re: Champions Cup Final 2022
Agree with this. In fact, I agree with most comments about the game. To be fair to La Rochelle, they played a smart, tough game and were ever so slightly the better team in the end. Not a case of Leinster not playing well enough, La Rochelle were the hair better which was all that was needed.majesticimperialman wrote:I was very pleased for La Rochelle in the end the better on the day scoring 3 tries. And, by the way, this was just great nut-cutter of a game.
