What?

You seriously doubted the mighty Glasgow Warriors?

Just a bit of pre season rust last weekend!

Very nicely done Glasgow. Cardiff defence needs some work mind you!!

Thought Gray and Dempsey were terrific in particular.

The downside of the evening was clearlyvthe injuty to Rory Darge though.

It had ACL written all over it and could cost him his season and the WC.

Hope it was not as bad as it looked!

Glass half empty time: I said last week that Seaman defends very close to the 13. Adams' try was the third time Cardiff got a man over when Seaman was too narrow.
Otherwise a great team performance. Apart from Darge's injury.

A dislocated ankle for Rory Darge, not a knee injury.

He will be out for a while with that but hopefully back sometime in the new year, maybe in time for the 6N. Let's hope so

Thanks Gee. Since you are the medico par excellence (apart from "yes he's really fit and healthy if you ignore the being dead bit") how serious is a dislocation?

Serious, but probably not as serious as an ACL and knee reconstruction.

The process of dislocation will have mangled his ankle ligaments at the same time though, so will be out for a good while nontheless.

Thanks Gee. Princess daughter was once sitting at her laptop in work with her foot tucked under her. She received a message that she was required in the front office. She stood up, not realising her foot had "fallen asleep". Instead of putting her foot down flat she planted it on the outside edge. When she put her weight on it she snapped all the ligaments. Unfortunately she didn't feel anything and walked the length of the building to the front office before the feeling returned.
She was in a moon boot for almost a year.
I'm not sure Rory Darge is as tough as she is.

Ouch, that sounds nasty

Darge to his credit, looks like he is made of pretty tough stuff as well. He looked the calmest one around as he sst up after the ruck and casually pointed to his ankle!

Everyone else was looking the other way!

I was dipping into the Glasgow warriors Forum and stumbled across a little gem,

"replacing the front five in one go is bringing on the Bam Squad".

took me a couple of minutes but it made me smile.

Big Man Jessie looked much better as a second row. Du Preez looked like a big aggressive bokkie second row.

Mingo Miotti is a very good 10. we still haven't seen it yet but the signs are that he will come good.

Forbes had a really good game, and probably scored the try of the season.

Apparently Darge is having an operation this morning and will be out till at least January. Well, a normal person would be....Rory will probably be leading the captain's run next week. if only

Apart from being lucky not to see a red. Tom Jordan also showed why he has picked up a pro contract and probably why he is starting ahead of Duncy. He may turn out to be quite a find and was a revelation after his rather stuttering debut last week.

The biggest revelation of the night though ( excuse the pun) was the form of Ritchie Gray, who looked like the player we have not seen for 10 years, carrying, tackling, dominating the lineout. If he carries on playing like that, he could easily be back in the Scotland mix for the WC.

Yes, Gray and Cummings - the past and the future together - two big lumps to at last give the tight 5 some proper welly. As is always the case with our teams, they just need to not get injured.

Gutted for Darge.

Edinburgh getting fairly battered by the Bulls atm.

They lost Blairhorn just before ko with a tummy bug and VDW has just been taken off after getting flattened by Louw.

It looks like it might be a long afternoon, being 32 degrees and 1300m altitude certainly not going to help.

Edinburgh score a good try and finally look like they have got into the pace of the game.

Gilchrist back on now and Crosbie comes back on after passing his HIA

It looks a better game now

So it was the "oh, we've got this level of refereeing again, so we can't be arsed" bunch that turned up.

Well played Chris Busby. You even got Tappe Henning to spout total bs to the media in order to cover for you. Super.

A bit of rotation for Glasgow, but still a decent looking side.

Good to see Gregor Brown, who looked very promising a while back when making his debut before getting injured, getting a start in the back row.
