Hmm it's as this selected Scottish side haven't been playing very much rugby together... Backline play has been awful so far

Our discipline is honking but where is consistency? Harris lifts a leg while clearing out and gets penalised. Fiji do it and nothing.

Almost another try for Fiji there ... looking a handful at the moment - not sure how long they'll be able to keep it up.

Well we got a game now
Why we are getting sucked into a game of chuckabout against Fiji though? That does not usually end well!

Re: Scotland 6N lookahead
Scotland's discipline has been woeful. There's no excuse for that. If some more of those Fijian passes went to hand then Scotland would be in a significantly worse position. Imagine what the Fiji team could do with a real general at 10.
It's an enjoyable watch so far but Scotland have got to start throwing some punches of their own and just temper the territory game a bit because it's not working.

Fiji are to a man faster and stronger than Scotland.
All Vern has done is get them to play simple basic structured rugby to give them opportunities to do their made running about rugby when it is on.
Vern cotter. 10 times a coach Toonie is

Has Toonie had enough and told the team to lose so he can fall on his sword at full time?

I’ve found the Toonie tactics
Box kick, box kick, box kick give away a penalty
Box kick, box kick, box kick
Bloody awful

That was a much better scrum and a good bit of ghosting from Hastings

The best time to score, maybe we can settle down a bit now
Ashman looks an improvement on Turner already and RG showing that we have missed him, the pick of our forwards so far, though not a high bar to be fair!

Whole of the Fijian team drifted to tackle hogg and Hastings spotted it and cut in. Clever play by him.
We need to get away from this whole thing of playing cack for 5/10 mins then have a brief minute of good play.
We need to stop box kicking the fecking ball and letting devastating Fijian runners attack us one on one.

Re: Scotland 6N lookahead
Ashman really should be getting more game time. He’s very dynamic seems accurate with his darts. I know the coaches think he’s the future but watching the other options so far this autumn and last 6N, I would say he’s the present for us.
I never said it before but the Scottish coaching team needs cleared out. That first half was wholly unacceptable

Re: Scotland 6N lookahead
Shocking half from Scotland but it is the first international match in a while for several players in that Scotlands starting XV. Regardless, they've got a lot to do in the 2nd half to put this game to bed.
Fiji really should have got a third try in that first half but to be fair to Scotland their defence held out well. Scottish discipline has been horrific again, continue like that and we'll surely concede another yellow card. Fiji giving away poor penalties as well so let's see who has the cleaner second half, it may be the difference.

If we sort out the discipline, we win this game, if we don't we lose
We got to give Fiji credit, they are a good team but we are playing their game at the moment

Clinical from Scotland at the end of the half. Made Fiji regret their errors in the Scottish half and missed kicks.

Most concerning in that disgraceful first 20 mins was the time we had the ball. It looked like the players were going through a training pitch drill. Meanwhile Fiji just looked better in every possible way. Fiji can obviously play an exciting natural game but they look very organised, their exit plays have been just as superb as their attacking flair.

Re: Scotland 6N lookahead
Scotland going back to the set piece as a source of ball and penalties. Good call and getting them rewards. Once Fiji are under pressure their discipline isn't great. Botia isn't an openside and it's telling with Fiji struggling to steal anything at the breakdown.

Looks like Scotland will win from here. Probably pretty comfortably. Have to admire Fiji, but you’d expect Scotland to just grind them down now.

The Fiji winger is lucky with the yellow there. He tried to pull out once he made contact as he knew he'd done wrong and didn't want to. Shame as he's had a great game before that point.

Bad commentaing after the yellow though suggesting a mistake by the ref when you can clearly hear why its yellow.

Barclay is the Scottish Dayglo, just a stream of jibberish and obvious one eyed observation. Shame given how he played on the edge of the law as a player, thought he'd provide better insight.

Especially when the ref has it in his mind you are dominant at the scrum so you can get away with not pushing straight.
