Perhaps it is guilt and deep down you know you are wrong and your wife is right?

Nah, didn't think so!

Been where you are Dazzler, not only had the tee-shirt but also the base ball cap and the matching towel, but just like the Murphys I'm not Ale You will never ever win if you try and apply a logical reasoned argument as to why women think or do certain things at certain times. I'd just carry on regardless buddy. There's always golf and no matter how bad you may play, the worst day on the course is still far far better than being with a reet cow-bag thumbsup

Ice cream and cheese.

Oh, sorry, saw the title and assumed it was 'list things that don't go together'.

I found that when I was going through my divorce that golf was the best way to forget about all my problems. No nagging, moaning or shouting, just peace and quiet doing something I enjoyed. Very Happy

My new wife is a diamond. Never complains about golf or me going away on golf trips. Very Happy

my missus always wants me to spend som time together instead of play golf on my day(s) off. When I suggest what she wants to do she doesn't have any proposals and invariable ends up in going to a garden centre. Bear in mind that I have no garden only a 12ft balcony, so this gets a bit tedious. she also fried the plants by pouring bleach on them thinking it was water in a jug.
She wasn't so keen on me going to Celtic manor on wednesday until I told her that qualifiers get a trip to spain for the final, funny that.

She also made me buy her a set of golf clubs (new) new white leather adidas shoes, pink titleist hat, gloves, pink balls, lessons and golf clothes. How many times have these clubes been used? less than I have fingers on my hand. She had 6 lessons and all she has managed to do is chip the ball 15yards with a rescue club; she is quite good and that shot mind.

Tarka - perhaps if you encouraged her a bit more and agreed to play a few times with her, she might be a bit more keen. Does she have friends that she plays with as well? When I first started playing, the most difficult thing was to find a partner who had the patience to play with a beginner (we all had to start somewhere). I was lucky but not everyone is.

Or maybe you are worried she might end up better than you????

Any man who marries a non-golfing wife is asking for trouble.

My wife used to caddy for me when we first started going out...however she soon got fed up with that and after a couple of years decided to take the game up for herself!

I encouraged her to take lessons with our local Pro and she now plays off a respectable handicap of 20. Now with a couple of kids we don't get that much chance to play golf together, but I always enjoy the occasional mixed open with her and the odd golfing weekend away when the grandparents volunteer to have the kids!

I'd turn that around. Any non-golfing woman who marries a golfer is asking for trouble
