Laura Robson
First topic message reminder :
Caught the last 2 sets of her game against Angelique Kerber, following the Murray - Kamke match. Have to agree with the pundits who called her a rising star. Still needs to improve a lot, but if she can refine her technique and find some consistency, we could see a lot more of her in future.
Shame she's up against Sharapova in the next round, but I suppose making the 2nd round is still progress. The kid's got some shots on her, though typically for a Brit, she did get her win the hard way, getting herself into good positions, only to lose a number of games in succession.
On a side note, it was nice to see Muzza win in straight sets. Still not at his best, but one hallmark of a champion is being able to grind out results when you're not at your best. Lets hope he can step it up as the quality of his opponents improves.

Re: Laura Robson
Still harping on about her sloooow movement, its not her inability to "move" its her inability to move her feet into position quickly enough and to anticipate the ball. She has not got the spring in her step that the pros have because she has not trained for that yet.
Considering she is still sharing her training with her academic studies, she has done a remarkable job of getting to where she is today.
If you "had" watched the match, she was not slow around the court, she was involved in many long rallies, corner to corner stuff from both sides of the net, but was slow in getting into position in some shots, which is down to a lack of understanding professional tennis at this level. As she gets older and her training begins to include and increase her sprint speed and reflexes, she'll get a lot "quicker" as you call it, and nurture better preparation for her shots but she is definitely not a "lumbering" elephant, which only goes to show a lack of understanding the physique levels of athletes at certain ages.
17 yrs old and you expect her to run around like a demented chihuahua, give her a break.

I saw the match Jubba and the first set she had Maria all over the court. She played like an absolute world beater.
