Tharanga banned for 3 months
The International Cricket Council has banned Upul Tharanga for three months after the Sri Lanka opener failed a drugs test.
The 26-year-old pleaded guilty after taking a herbal remedy during the World Cup to ease a shoulder injury.
"Tharanga had no intention to enhance his sporting performance or to mask the use of a performance enhancing substance," said an ICC statement.
Tharanga had already been dropped by Sri Lanka for the tour of England.

It's a joke. Shane Warne's ban was lenient. Asif and Ammir was ridiculous. It's time cricket started taking a serious anti-drugs stance. But then India don't want that (something to do with infringeing on their players' rights - please note I am NOT suggesting indians take PEDs) so it won't happen.

Its a moot point to enforce complete WADA laws during free time of one month when international cricket goes on for 11 months a year.

No it isn't, Wada is about a lot more than out of season testing. There is very limitted testing in cricket, people are deluding themselves if they think all cricketers are clean. Seriously, 3 months for a blatant infringement? it makes Jamaica's athletics stance (6 months so that you can still participate in the Olympics) look harsh.

Except out of season testing everything else is implemented and WADA compliant. You need to update yourself
