The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Is it definitely the '77 tour? The '77 tour wasn't a happy one, for Phil Bennett at least.

Honestly Radge? Were I a Scotland fan, I would vote with my wallet!
Weird thing- apparently the Ireland RWC shirt won't be released until the 11th August, but our first warm-up game is on the 6th of August. This doesn't make much sense to me.

Apparently the european top is going to be quite unique and it may only be a supporters top!!

No idea, suspect that date will be moved forward. Anyway, you'd think they'd want to be selling them for as long a window as possible.
I don't intend to buy one. Way too expensive for something you'll barely wear. I wear them if they are bought for me as presents, but I would seldom, if ever, but a replica shirt.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
will they be wearing their world cup shirt in the warm up games? I'd have thought not. That's probably why the release date is after the first friendly. I could be wrong though!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Last WC we did wear our new shirt in the warm-ups, albeit without the RWC logo of course but it was the same design.

We're all too dependent on the internet. We need therapy.
Notch, I've never bought a replica jersey either. I tried to get a Dragons one, but they were too big for me

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Probably Cari, but I left it too late and there were none left in the shop at Dave Parade. I might get one for the new season, but then a) they'll be pricey and b) I would probably only wear it for going to games.

I can't wait for the Scarlets' new kit to be released, but I've got the issue of getting my season ticket yet. 1st July I'm ringing up to buy that, can't wait!
I hope our away kit goes back to navy or green, wasn't a big fan of the charcoal slate grey whatever colour it was this season!
Munsty - I'm too dependent on it too. Tis not good. Going to try for an internet free evening today, I suspect I shall fail quite miserably!

Rava - I've seen worse, it just reminded me of a South African one from a couple of years ago.
Lucky - it's worth looking on eBay. I got my Dublin shirts from there. One was brand new and the other was second hand but they're fine.
Sooooo...according to Ian Gough Tommy's moved to Cardiff....nothing to do with me!

I doubt it actually. I know a fair few of the Scarlets and Dragons players live in the Diff too. Tis just where they all seem to go!

I'm looking forward to the new Ireland jersey. Problem is, with a lot of world cup jerseys, they try much too hard.
Though I have liked the Kooga ones so far. Nice and simple.

Nothing to do with the Blues Rodders. A certain landlady perhaps. Cari, why don't you innocently drop your address on to his FB Page? You never know

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Swansea and Llanelli are only an hour or so from Cardiff by road anyway. Also, with his Irish team commitments, Tommy flies over to Dublin a fair bit so he's nearer the airport now.
...and me!
Rava - when he went to Sophia Gardens to watch some cricket last year, I told him I only lived over the road and pop in for a brew....I didn't have any biscuits though so he didn't come over

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Hi,
Kado, taken down your music recommendations (and Lucky's) and will look into them ASAP.
Right, I am sorry to write it in here, but for those who sponsored me for that walk please pay attention to me (for once )
I was meant to be doing the Hike for Heroes thing on Wednesday, but I got stiffed for a short notice task to America (I'm in Charleston, South Carolina now). Obviously I played up about this to my ops room, but I couldn't get out of it. Anyway, I can't do the Hike on Wednesday with the rest of them, however I will walk/run the equivalent distance on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal next week when I get back. I will use my runkeeper app to track it so you know it's done.
Now I understand that some people have parted with money in here and may not be happy with what I've got to do. I did ask my line manager about the possibility of refunds, but that's no go. So, should any of you feel that you are getting a bad return for your money (though it will be harder for me to do it on my own) I will gladly refund you out of my own pocket without judgement. Just PM me on here or on Facebook and we can discuss reimbursement.
I am sorry for this. My line manager's answer was not to say anything, but I don't want to do that. As I say, I will do the equivalent distance (30 miles) next week and I will post a link to my runkeeper site in here for those who still wish to sponsor me to see I have done it. Sorry to post it in here, but I can't get decent enough Internet to see who sponsored me and then message them personally.

Rodders - I asked Ian Gough about how Tommy was getting on with his flying lessons, and Gough reckons Tommy will be flying to Belfast before long on a regular basis by himself
Rev - I'm sure the sponsors won't knock it. You're still making the effort to do the walk. By the way, where was your sponsor page? I couldn't donate...I didn't see the link

Good man Rev.
I’m sure nobody would mind that you’re doing it next week rather than this. It’s certainly not your fault that you couldn’t do it.

Nah, missed it, bud. However, it will be forever etched in my brain - was an amazing game to be at, altho the atmosphere at times bordered on too much anti-English hostility for my liking - but thanks for the heads-up
