The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Not a bad song. Much prefer the album version.
And in other news, my hotel room stinks. Not sure if it's related to the noodles and belly pork at dinner time....

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Sorry, I was with some pals back there.
As - there hasn't been much for me to comment on in here. Just the nature of the closure of the domestic season up here I guess. Plus the ping-pong in SW19, which I don't really care for.
Cari, I can't believe you've not been to North Wales. I had some great times there when I was younger; mountain walking, rock climbing, abseiling etc. And when you walk into a pub, they all start talking Welsh
The fact that they were probably speaking Welsh in the first place didn't occur to my pals when we walked into a pub in Garndolbenmaen (I think that was the place).
I was talking to Penfro about that one in the Vulcan the other weekend.

Morning All,
Weather's chilled here,lost 12/13 degrees,down to a reasonable 24 at 8.00am
Now that Stade F are safe, you can start planning your Amlin visits,if only the ERC decides to set the match fixtures.
Am I a rarity in not being in the least bit worried about going to the dentist;things can only get better

Chef, I've never been bothered about going to the dentist either. It can be great if they give you that magic gas!
Sounds good, Cymro. My dad's a Gog and I've been there plenty of times visiting relatives in Llangefni. I remember going to the beach at Benllech when I was younger - just beautiful

Hound - it's a bit mad really isn't it? I've lived in Wales all my life and I've never been further North than Aberystwyth! I was looking at going to Bangor University once too but went elsewhere to do a different course.

I can totally relate to that. When I was ten I got my front teeth smashed in and had to have crowns fitted. This was back when we had cheap NHS dentistry...all I remember is the nurse trying to hold my arms and legs down cause I was thrashing about and screaming. Anyway, I didn't bother going to the dentist for years afterwards but then as an adult I had to have a root filling. I explained to the dentist my previous bad experience and he was great. I've been regularly going back ever since. I had my crowns re-done last year and that was still a horrendous experience but at least I wasn't thrashing about screaming.

Morning all/Bore da pawb!
Hope everyone's well today
I'm in a proper good mood, couldn't tell you why, but I'm on phone's today so it may not last long
I don't mind the dentist, had the same one until I was 18 and he retired who was awesome. Not that big a fan of my new dentist but still he's okay. Think I'm just lucky I haven't had to have too much done, just some teeth out before I had braces, and that's it

I went to stay up by Llyn Tegid when I was 15 for a geography trip at school, and we did some walking up part of Snowdon. Just absolutely stunning, took some great pics but then my camera broke and I lost all of them, was gutted bout that would love to go back up there.

Dentists aren't all bad. Though a girlfriend back home got a job as a dental hygenist at my dentist. I thought it prudent to change dentists when we broke up

ah yes that was it Lucky, couldn't remember what the place we stayed at was actually called! I really enjoyed it up there but we couldn't actually go and do anything near the lake coz they had some weird algae growing on it that they were researching. Bit of a shame that.

Kiwi - ha yeah that was probably a good idea!
I went to the Pendine School Camp when I was about 10 which was horrendous - not the surroundings, just the camp itself. They used to do trips to Llangranog when I was at secondary school but I never went on those.

Morning all; just read that Glaws aren't signing any more players at the moment meaning we only have on specialist full back in Olly Morgan, I know Burns/Voyce/Taylor/Sharples have played there but would rather we'd brought one in. Apparently we were after the Canadian fullback who used to be at Hartpury but his wages were too steep :/
Hope all are ok on this lovely day, i'm regretting the kebab from last night, especially mixed with the morning run!

Lucky: it was really good, making me want to go back into a band too!
Stag: I reckon we'll be able to hold our own, so long as Kingsholm remains a fortress. This could be classed by Redpath as a transitional year and blood our new breed of homegrown talent: Trinder, Sharples, May, Mills, Robson, Knight, Thomas, Britton, Savage, Lewis (injury free). If they don't go to the w.c add in JSD, ESF and the experience of Morgan, Narraway, Buxton, Hazell, Q'era and I'm not too worried.

Mickado - my brother's a bass player, and he's certainly not boring - plays in a metal band though. There have been some less boring bass players (Nicky Wire, Paul Simmonon) but yeah, Adam Clayton....great bassist though.

Didn't know you were a sax man prop. Had a go of your mandolin though.
I play guitar only (boring!) but i've got a lovely 12 string, it's not a "different instrument" or anything, but it sounds lovely for certain songs.

Being in a mixed relationship (Hwntw&Gog) I get to travel 'up North' quite a bit. It is a stunning landscape, although obviously nowhere near as stunning as Sir Benfro/Pembrokeshire
However, getting there on the A470 is blydi awful if time is of the essence (It's a beautiful drive for 'Sunday Drivers' though )

My favourite spots in Wales are the stretch from Corwen thru Cynwyd, Llandrillo, Llandderfel to Bala - beautiful countryside - or the coast around St David's & St Bride's
