First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be? appletini

Ah OK Staggy. That's good then if he gets to go.

Don't you just love it when people ring your mobile, and they're chatting away before you have to stop them and say they've got the wrong number... laughing

I have a dislike for Federer, and I can't even explain it.

I heart Tsonga though! Hope he manages to get this 4th set now.

Also Tomic has nicked a set of Djokovic in the other QF - interesting times ahead!

Hughie its ok. I agree with you he is really irritating but my brother really really hates him. And Thierry Henry (not for the Ireland thing but a dive he made against Spain in 2006).

Tsonga!! Yahoo

ooo a 5th set now, this is perfect, means I won't miss any of the Murray match later!

5-5 in the DjokovTomic match too in the 4th, would be awesome if that went to 5 sets too.

I don't think people actually hate him - just find him annoying. That's something we all do - get irritated by people we don't know. How many times have posters on here have been annoyed by someone else for instance? Very Happy

Hey what odds a Murray Tsonga final?

This could be Murrays year but I suspect it could be Djokovics. That said I'm not sure anyone can beat Nadal, even if he's on one foot.

Yes thats true cari but I think you have to distinguish between liking or disliking someones cyber-personality based on what they post here and actually knowing someone as a person.

It's the same with a celebrity I suppose. I don't think you can really judge someone as a person based on their celebrity persona.

oh and Djoko beats Tomic 3 sets to 1 to be the first man through to the semi finals. Huge wobble from him in the 2nd set, but twas a good test for him. Nadal v Fish up next.

Wow big upset there. If Murray can get past a one footed Nadal then he could win this.

My money is on a Novak vs Nadal final epic with Djockovic winning.

Incredible! I was sort of following the match at work and saw Tsonga had won the third set, then I get home and he's serving for the match!

And what did Andrew Castle say on commentary about Tsonga's victory? "Federer allowed himself to be outplayed." Look, I know you want Federer's babies because he's better than you ever were, but how about some credit where it's due, FFS?

I just thought it was a really kiss-donkey thing to say. They're the same with the Williams sisters, you'd swear they can walk on water from the way they talk about them.

A friend of mine sat next to Castle at a corporate shindig. He was more than a little put out that shhe didn't have a clue who he was, and proceeded to tell her. In boring detail.
