Wimbledon Day 8
First topic message reminder :
Tennis fans what a treat for the day.
Murray v Gasquet
Nadal v Del Potro
Federer v Youzhny
Djokovic v Llodra
Where is the banana skin?? I think Llodra could upset 2011's Iron Man Novak Djokovic given that he has been serving well all championship and has a solid net game.
Also the side dish of today's play is
Kubot v Lopez
Fish v Berdych
Ferrer v Tsonga
Malisse v Tomic

Hmmm. Double standards, anyone?
No, I said I was supporting Tsonga in that particular match.
Hmmm. Stick to boxing UC. Wimbledon has been on for a week and yet here you are trying to lecture posters?
Really? In that match? So tell me UC, what is good about Gasquet's game as you have so much knowledge to disperse?
I know it has been on for a week, what is the relevance?
I'm not lecturing anyone, you seem very defensive and cliquey on this forum, it is not a place for sensible discussion.
I will leave you to it.
Sensible? How rich.
It is a tennis forum sir, so please post something about tennis!

Gasquet would probably feel he had a chance in that first set.

Ah Union does a runner as Andy Murray wraps up a highly impressive 7-6 6-3 6-3 win over Richard Gasquet. No congratulations Union? How unsporting of you.

Well, Andy wins through 6-2 in the third.
Slight wobble with pulling a drive volley wide to make it 30-40, then unlucky on the first MP when Gasquet gets a dead netcord, but Andy sees it through in the end, finishing it off with an ace.

Re: Wimbledon Day 8
that was a very very very good performance from Andy, and from the moment he won the first set he was always in control. Nice symmetry about the fact that he saved a break point in his opening and closing serving games and none in between.

It was a fine display by Andy. Bit of a wobble in the first 10 ten games of the match, but he certainly upped it in the 2nd and 3rd set. The draw is nicely poised for him now.

I am a Murray fan. Least I actually credit other players as well as criticise.
You could learn something.

So what if I dislike some of his antics?
Who doesn't?
Does it effect you?
You seem quite emotional, mate.

Djokovic holds to love there. I wonder if Llodra can serve anywhere near the 80's he reached in his match with Ward.

Don't worry LK
I also dislike the antics of:
Djokovic smashing his racquet
Sharapova with her screeching and
Monfils trying to play 50 shot rally every match!

Re: Wimbledon Day 8
shame serena lost, would have been great for her to make the most remarkable of come backs.
As for Venus.. can't wait for her to lose asap, so we see the last of that swan outfit and finally can put the sound back on.

Re: Wimbledon Day 8
Murray was awesome today. Especially the last set and a half, he gets comfortable and just makes his opponents look foolish with continued brilliance. Much better than the first week. Gasquet is a mental midget, supporting him is pointless, complete waste of talent.

Lopez wins a topsy turvy tie-break 9-7 after saving two match points, and there's a glimmer of hope for the Spaniard now. How will Kubot respond?

Re: Wimbledon Day 8
eugh, Llodra misses two easy volleys to slip to BP down, and though he works himself to advantage, he then DFs twice and misses another relatively simple volley, and Djokovic is well on his way to an easy win here

With a bit more composure, Llodra coudl have a serious chance. He just gets carried away a bit too much. Great talent again.

And the #1 seed - women's tennis is totally screwy at the moment, with only Sharapova out of the established stars managing to perform to a good level. Must be her tournament to lose now.

Djokovic through in three, easy enough for him. Llodra didn't serve or return well enough to really put him under any pressure. Rafa-time
