Wimbledon Day 8
First topic message reminder :
Tennis fans what a treat for the day.
Murray v Gasquet
Nadal v Del Potro
Federer v Youzhny
Djokovic v Llodra
Where is the banana skin?? I think Llodra could upset 2011's Iron Man Novak Djokovic given that he has been serving well all championship and has a solid net game.
Also the side dish of today's play is
Kubot v Lopez
Fish v Berdych
Ferrer v Tsonga
Malisse v Tomic

Fish takes the first set against Berdych on a TB, hmm didn't I predict Berdych in three?

It's clear to see how much pression the referee is to gove a warning. How can Nadal me mad while being told he goes 30% over the allocated time?

Yeah it was a bit early MfC, Del Potro didnt like it either.
Its a shame these two are meeting so early to be honest.

Lopez completes the come-back against Kubot, he'll play Murray in the quarter-finals.

Do we think he'll speed up after the warning or whether he genuinely believes that the rules don't apply to him?

Re: Wimbledon Day 8
It's a disgrace really. How on earth he is allowed to complain when being asked to follow the rules?
Shall we call the ball in when it's less than 30cm out?
Nadal making Delpo wait on set point...

I have never seen Nadal look so grumpy on the court. This could play to De Potro's advantage

31s clocked after the warning. Shoudl be one point penalty. Set Delpo. That's the rule!

This is not good from Nadal. He cut the strapping off himself and now going for a timeout before the tiebreak

Having a good breather before an important TB. HOw handy.
I take a lot of critics cause I expose Nadal's physical game and gamesmanship but frankly, having him as a number one in the sport is a disgrace.
See him run like a rabbit for the remaining of teh match...and the tournament.

Re: Wimbledon Day 8
That's twice you've done that Mad for Chelsea. I think Tenez has a legitimate point, since Nadal seems to be 'injured' in about 70% of his matches, with no apparent effect on his movement speed. He gets the positives of having an excuse ready for the press conference should he lose, without the negatives of actually playing any worse.

What a stupid question. I call him a faker and unless he pulls out of this match I am right. But you know what? he won't pull out of this but will actually improve as he advances in the tournament.
ONly rafa fanactics can;t see that.

Del Potro is playing serve and volley very well and has been consistent with his serve.

Re: Wimbledon Day 8
I have to admit having watched the first set, I was sceptical about the time out. The timing of it and Del Potro had a legitimate claim about it because of the legality, but he looked genuinally injured and as soon as someone says 'bone' it is serious. I don't like to see any player play at a physical disadvantage. I think the right decision was made regarding the MTO and I did think that Delpo would win the TB. Would we see the obvious 'theories' had Delpo taken it?

Re: Wimbledon Day 8
Becker "he does seem a bit slower wide on that forehand side". Other guy "certainly does seem like it's all or nothing on that side for Nadal now, and he's just pulling the trigger on it". I'll leave it there...

Re: Wimbledon Day 8
There are some real Nadal haters on here today, why any top ten player would say Nadal is a nice guy and a good sportsman considering his assumed, unscrupulous and seemingly shameless MTO's with fraudulent injuries, makes me wonder who the blinkered posters are on this forum.
The numbers of you making things up to feed your hatred of someone is bad for your health, its also a bit slanderous to call someone a cheat when you have absolutely no proof apart from a fragile opinion and some dubious "out of context" remarks.
To be fair, many, many players take MTO's for quite a few different reasons, not just for an injury, the TO is there and can be used for whatever purpose the player needs and it would surprise me if Nadal took this only chance of a "breather" this early in a match just for the sake of what a few of you call "cheating".
