Wales U20's in the Welsh Premiership?
Reading Richard Webster recent comments about the lack of competitive rugby for the U20's I was wondering what if each season a U20 squad was selected from the 4 regions and they were placed within the Welsh Premiership as a club side?
Week to week they could have competitive rugby with the coaches ready for the following Junior World Cup. Possibly even Gatland could over see them, as their our Nations second team.

I dont think that would be fair on the premiership clubs. They already have loads of young players in their sides and they have certain pressures from Regions to play and not play different lads each week.
Look at the dramas down in Neath RFC to prove my point.
What we do need is a stronger premiership. not necessarily a youth team but that all the teams improve and therefor the eligible players amongst them improve with the game on a whole.

Too many clubs rely on these younger players so IMO it wouldnt be fair on them to have those players taken away.

How about some of them get leased to the North Wales region with the possibility of playing in the premiership.

Dusty Hare mentioned something about this, he believes that the English academies were suffering because they aren't playing enough competitive game. He suggested that there should be a properly structured 'A' league. There were suggestions that the Welsh academies could get involved too, I'd be in favour of that.

The British and Irish League is supposed to semi accept Dusty Hares suggestions.

Why don't the WRU enforce the Premiership to prioritise developing U20 players instead of silverware and self-loathing? The Premiership and B&I Cup is a good standard of rugby for these young players. A few more games for their region would be marvelous too.

Why only 1 region? Wouldn't it be better to have a semi pro region each at Clwyd (Wrexham), Gwynedd (Bangor) and Powys (Newtown) in a Welsh premiership along with Wales U20's? At least we can grow the game then.
