Gordan Tietjens invited to help All Blacks prepare for RWC
The legend of Sevens rugby is happy to help the boys prep the AB's for the forth coming RWC.
One of the worlds longest standing coaches, he has seen masses of success unleashing his seven a-side teams on the rest of the World over the last 17 years.
Not that the AB's need masses of encouragement, as number one ranked team for the last few years, almost undefeated and with an unlimited pool of youthful talent to fill any voids that appear in the squad.
But a man of Tietjens calibre is only going to help...!

Tich, the true craftsman of International rugby coaches.
A pen. a notebook,a watch, acouple of pairs of trainers and Tich is away again for another season...

Tich was a very good 15 s coach, he coached Bay of Plenty about 10-15 years ago, taking them into the 1st division of the NPC.
It was just after he left that that team went on to win the Ranfurly sjield off Auckland, not bad going for a tiny provincial union....

Personally I think the next ABs coach will be a current Super 15 coach or current International coach.
Tich has to concentrate on an Olympic gold medal.....

These days Test sides,have fitness coaches,kicking coaches,scrumming coaches,forwards coachs,backs coachs.
You think he could`nt fulfill one of those?but to be honest it was just a rather frivilous comment.BUT I don`t for one minute think he could`nt fulfill
some role for the All Blacks.

My understanding is that prior to the WC he will have a role in the skills department...

Apparently a few of the lads found it tougher than they thought...

Titch is a great coach, a very loyal person to NZ and we should be thankful that he continues to set NZ apart from the rest of the 7s world in the face of some big offers from the likes of China ahead of Rio 2016.
With Titch on our side who can be against us?

Another master stroke from Jedi Henry. All about pulling the winners into the group. Titch was at a 2 day training run in Wellington yesterday and already the fitness gaps are being highlighted.
7's is an awfully fast game and the recovery timeframes are critical. Titch will know all about this, as well as the need for pacing the attacks, substitution tactics and obviously high level knowledge of the need for ball skills and utilising space and time on the field.
I think we'll gradually see all the things that make NZ rugby what it is starting to get involved with the squad over the next few weeks. Henry's not one to leave anything to chance...

Re: Gordan Tietjens invited to help All Blacks prepare for RWC
Reminds me of the start of Fred "The Needle" regime some of the greats like Colin Meads and Kel Tremain thought they could take it easy.
They same learned differently, there is a difference to being fit and a gym monkey.
That has just been revealed remember Freds Team had a 100 % record over 4 years so it was worth it.Even the most senior players jumped when
he was around.
