who will miss out this time?

Well batted, now RHB needs to realize that himself and De Bruyn are better bowlers than Schofield.

Evening all....
Well batted le Roi, The Brain and the Gaffer. Looks as tho' Hyphen is following everyone's advice not to bowl Schofield. Have used 6 bowlers already without turning to either Schofield or Meaker.

8 bowlers - are we trying to break some kind of T20 record?
Roy can bowl a bit as well?

Well played
Interesting that Ansari batted ahead of Schofield, Arafat - and did a good job. Fair chance that he will play in next championship match.....?

Re: surrey vs somerset & glamorgan twenty/20
Roy is actually top of the Surrey bowling averages in the County Championship!!
Anyway, Schofield's over fortunately does not prove decisive as we win by 18 runs.
Particularly good performances by Norah and the Gaffer with the ball as well as by those with the bat listed in despatches by the Corporal.
Ansari is continuing to show he has a wise head on young shoulders. Adams said of Ansari at the AGM something along the lines of : ''Unfortunately, he's not available at the start of the season as he's at university. Unusually for a cricketer he's intelligent.''
Whist there is clearly a lot of difference between a CC game and a t20 thrash, I still think the maturity demonstrated by Ansari will get him at least mighty close to a place in the team for our next CC game.

I agree that Ansari should play the next CC match, probably in place of Batty as after a decent start to the season, he has trailed off a bit.

Us posters clearly haven't got enough brains to work out that sort of mystery....

Re: surrey vs somerset & glamorgan twenty/20
jimbob, Corp,
This is where we need input from those at SCCC able to explain these kinds of things. Even if you choose to use 8 bowlers (a T20 Record, I wonder?), it surely makes sense to give a feller whose first over goes for a measly single one more over. Even if The Brain had gone for 15 in his second over, he still would have kept them below the asking rate...

Re: surrey vs somerset & glamorgan twenty/20
It's good to have options but I think 8 is a hit excessive. Having said that I think it just shows that we don't have another batsman capable of playing in the top 6 due to Ramps' absence from the competition. Ansari and Schofield are better options than the 'proper' batsmen Harinath and Lancefield. Tbh I agree, and Ansari at 6 looks like the best option atm.
Anyway, a good result yesterday, the gaffer had another excellent game and I agree that he should be given a go in the Championship very soon. Also, I had been thinking that Roy may as well be opening with Hyphen's poor form. I would move the captain down to no.5 personally to take some pressure off, he can still get quick runs in that position.
Roy
Davies
Maynard
Brain
Hyphen
Gaffer
That would be my top 6 for the next game. I think you can point to us having too many bowlers, especially when Meaker comes on as 7th choice, but we don't have any batsmen that are worth putting into the lineup instead. Having Spriegel is a hinderance because he just uses up deliveries, we may as well have the extra bowling options. the competition is still very tight, 5 games left and I think 3 wins might do it, 4 almost certainly would. Personally I don't think we'll make it but if Davies and Hyphen find some form anything is possible I suppose.

Middlesex losing to Essex tonight when they seemed to have won the game after the first 15 overs hasn't helped us!

Re: surrey vs somerset & glamorgan twenty/20
A much needed win to set up my predicted classic at Whitgift on Monday night!
Guildford, Middlesex have done that a few times recently I thought they were going to do us a favour by beating Kent the other day only to throw it away. As long as they do the same at the oval for us!
I notice Schofield played against Glamorgan and gave away his usual 18 runs an over??? A quick look at the averages show Schofield in T20 has bowled 13 overs for 124 runs a mighty average of over 9.5 but its ok he makes up for this by taking zero wickets (that can't be right let me recount) No still zero.
On a brighter note what a performancew by Ansari who now averages 88 with the bat in T20.

We were annoyed when Suppiah tore us apart - he's currently got figure of 5 for 4 from 3 overs against Glamorgan!
Edit - he finished with 6-5
