Pacific Natiopns Cup...
Starts tomorrow with Japan vs Samoa and Fiji vs Tonga. Does anyone know where i could watch Japan vs Samoa? The Samoans will feature Seilala Mapusua amongst other European (Maps now ex european ) based players like Pisi and Fuimaono-Sapolo, so it could be well worth watching

I think that the IRB website shows the games either live or after.

the one little problem with the IRB website is it wont allow you to view the games in any country that rugby is a major sport. Sky Sport pretty much ruins everything for Uk fans.

Re: Pacific Natiopns Cup...
I take it this is no longer contested by SH tier one nations A sides as of yore. I think Maori or Junior AB`s won it some years ago,as they did the Churchill Cup.

Alyn,
That's only if SKY also have the rights to it, which I doubt they do for this comp.

Re: Pacific Natiopns Cup...
Looking at the IRB website, the Junior ABs won this competition all but one year when the Maori won it.
This year it is between Samoa, Fiji, Tonga and Japan. What does everyone think the final standings will be? The IRB rankings have them at:
10. Fiji (74.05)
11. Samoa (74.02)
13. Japan (71.45)
16. Tonga (68.90)

I didn't enjoy deleting it . But "advertising illegal streams" isn't something a responsible, respectable forum should be doing

Kiwi, go and get yourself a cup of tea and put your feet up for 10 mins. You've been working hard and deserve it. There's a good lad.
Quick, Mckay, the teacher is away. Re-post the link. I'll keep an eye out for Kiwi
(my turn to )

Welshjohn,
Is that the final score? I'm not going to lie, that's a bit of a shock.

welshjohn,
I'm not surprised Tonga won, but it's the score line that's amazed me. Anyone that particularly stood out for you?

Re: Pacific Natiopns Cup...
I think that puts Tonga above Fiji in the World Rankings now. I think that's a real turn-up, Tonga didn't look great in the Churchill Cup.
Re: Pacific Natiopns Cup...

Aint that the truth. NFL.com have a thing called Gamepass where you pay $250 and you can watch any game live and archived games going back 2 years. Except the two games Sky show on Sundays can't be viewed by UK viewers.
Re: Pacific Natiopns Cup...
I don't think Tonga will overtake Fiji but Samoa will with this perfotmance against Japan AND get closer to Scotland too!

The results aren't up on the IRB website yet?
What is up is that Zimbabwe smashed Kenya 42-24 last weekend.

Re: Pacific Natiopns Cup...
Tonga won away (which counts for more) and won by more than 15, which adds a 1.5 multiplier to the points total. I have the points shift being around 2.7 (Fiji lose 2.7 points, Tonga gain 2.7 points) which is a 5.4 point relative jump for Tonga, and therefore they'll end up just about Fiji.
Re: Pacific Natiopns Cup...
Well Samoa will go above both ofthem after their win over Japan!
I think you need to be a Sheldon out of the Big Bang Theory to work outthe IRB rankings so well done Robbo .... no offence intended, I just don't have a clue how they work it out!
I imagine Samoa or Tonga could in reality move above Scotland and Argentina?

Re: Pacific Natiopns Cup...
Final score in the other match was Samoa 34 - Japan 15, but that really didnt reflect Japan's 2nd half territorial dominance.
Must say i'm very surprised by the Tongan's victory, were Fiji close to/at full strength? And was it a similar Tongan side to the one in the Churchill cup?

Re: Pacific Natiopns Cup...
Tonga have been boosted by the inclusion of a few more players but I think their greatest advantage is having played with each other recently and being match sharp.
It certainly wasn't Fiji's strongest line up.
