The biggest letdown

Rather than ‘overrated’ but what is everyone’s views on letdown films, one’s who’d seen the trailer for and it looked amazing or used to enjoy as a kid and then the remake destroyed the memory.

For me...

1. Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Why Lucas why? Oh because you’re a cash hungry ‘insert expletive’. Thank you for destroying my childhood of such great original films with a load of tosh about Midi-chlorians
2. Transformers. Again I loved Transformers as a kid. Had all the original metal figures (though for some reason Ultra Magnus was my fave???) and then they brought them back, for me nothing can improve on the mid 80’s cartoon film with Unicron. And where are the dinobots? Me Grimlock! Me destroy!
3. Spiderman 3. How can the Venom storyline be ruined so badly? It should have been awesome!

Spiderman 3 i completely agree with, what a complete chicken up! And now they are starting from scratch.

ET was pants, never understood the fascination with it. Flight of the Navigator was so much better!
