Re: Wladmir Klitchko (Harold Lloyd)
I've watched the fight back a few times now and It obvious that Haye's timing is well off. The fact that he stopped sparring 3 weeks before the fight certainly showed.
Also his balance is all over the place.. Im not talking about when Wlad pushes him to the canvas but his actual footwork. Its hard to know how much that toe injury was bothering him. Personally I think he should have pulled out if it was affecting his movement.
Post fight Ive heard a lot of people claim Haye was disgraced.. I think the fight was a lot closer than the cards suggest. In Round 10 Foreman had it even, and Stewart was calling it either way.
No doubt Wlad won but Haye landed some decent power shots, proved his chin and overall didnt do too badly for someone carrying an injury against such a good opponent.

In a way Haye actually won the fight and made good his prefight boasts.
I think at one point Haye gave Wlad a stern look whilst running away from him and isn't that really what counts ?

You can try dress it up how you like, but Wlad, too string, too clever and too good!

Not denying the result.
But a few have made out Wlad put on some kind of virtuoso boxing class. Thats not how I saw it. Given Wlad is 2 stone heavier he wasn't willing to engage. Too safe.

Yeah, I think you're right. They need to have a look at the scoring system.

Re: Wladmir Klitchko (Harold Lloyd)
Foremans scorecard was a joke. I've no idea what he was seeing..
As for Manny of course hes not gonna say this ones in the bag go out and take it easy. Has to keep his man motivated and focused on the job. Plus the fight was in Germany and he knows what those judges can be like. Wait a minute........

No one is saying Wlad is an ATG or anything, he is just quite a bit better than Haye, that is all.

Good as Foreman was, he is well known for talking drivel about boxing - as well as peculiar scoring habits.

Haye's timing was off because Wlad stopped him getting set properly. He kept him off balance and nullified Haye's strengths.

I like George.....Can talk fights form a fighters perspective and when Lampley and Merchant were caught being biased..he wasn't afraid to call them on it..
Gutteridge and Watt had Pazienza beating Mayweather when everybody else had a Mayweather shutout..
It happens..

I played a whole season with a broken toe, a few injections and there you go, and it ws my big pinky.
I here loads of footballers doing it, not sure if the injections would be allowed in boxing though, are they?

That's your evidence is it?
Did this broken toe of yours eventually heal then?

What eveidence would satify your curiosity?
My toe hasn't healed no, if I am honest it is screwed, but I played 28 games in a season having painkilling injections1
If you are daft enough to believe the toe bull from haye, then thats your look out!
It wasnt broken at all

I made love seven times to my Wife in one night....
Reckon I could've made it eight if it wasn't for my pesky toe...
Toes do count...and Haye has my full sympathy..

I don't know about broken, but some players are plagued by niggling and bad foot/toe injuries. Only one off the top of my head I can think of is Lineker, he used to have pain killing injections before games. It eventually ended his career.

Re: Wladmir Klitchko (Harold Lloyd)
The Nani one is cobblers, how can a toe be permanantly broken? Surely the bone would fuse back together.
The others say nothing about playing a whole season with the injury.

Point is, you can play football with a toe injury, so you should be able to box

I wouldn't say it was one of the worst, its not quite in the same class as "My back is broken" is it...

Re: Wladmir Klitchko (Harold Lloyd)
No getting around it, it was a feeble excuse.
If Wlad had been outpointed then used a little toe excuse, he would have been universally destroyed on these boards.
