The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

cheers Hobo
Hoogerland might just officially be my new hero in cycling. 33 stitches in his bum after his forced trip into the barbed wire and he's still cycling well. Crazy guy.

Thats not a million miles from the truth!
Dreamer knows and can testify that it is vaguely connected to the NotW scandal! I mean very vaguely!
So that could be two huge bits of cool news for 606v2 coming this week.

I used to email Tommy a couple of years ago and he'd reply until he got super famous and had to have an "official" page on Facebook. Still I did cwtch him so I can't moan...
Welcome back Mickado - I'm getting ready for Dublin oh yes...so's Bernie. Jebus it was just as well you missed the game on Sunday he had a shocker. So he'll be poop hot when I'm there....

The Ospreys ladies tops last season were cack. The manufacturers seemed to think all women were petite little things. So I missed out

Usually they're all really shapeless too, which was why I was so pleased with the polo shirt I got last season. Hope the actual rugby shirts this season have a better cut on the women's too, tis not too much to ask is it?

Evening pub.
I've gotta say, I enjoyed linebreaker's joke about the crocs
They breed them Sheilas tough in Oz!
And reading back on the film stuff, The Exorcist broke new ground when it was released; certainly in terms of special effects. There had never been a horror film like it at the time. I was only 15 and saw it on the day after its release in the UK. We had to buy tickets four months in advance, and the hype around the film was incredible.
Religions petitioned for it to be banned to 'save the souls' of anyone who went to watch it. When we turned up at the cinema in Leicester Sq all the exit doors had been sprayed with crosses, and Christians were begging people not to go in.
The pal I went with ducked behind the seat in front every time the camera panned to that bedroom door. Although he was over a year older than me, I had to walk him to his front door. The next day he told me he had slept under the covers with his bedside light.
Sap!

Sap is right. Almost as bad as the Christian protests around a film about an entirely fictional demon...
I think you'd have to be a bit spiritual or religious to find it really scary. I'm not so I wasn't too bothered. Like I said, I enjoyed it.

Is anyone else concerned that weeks and weeks after the Celtic Rugby title sponsor changed, they STILL haven't put together a new website for the competition? Kind of ridiculous imo.

The current Premiership sponsor's website is useless. Opta stats, which have been feature for ages, seem to have disappeared.
If the new Celtic/Italia league have an avenue for asking what you want then get on the case.
dreamer - Le Tour has been controversial or what! Positively brutal this year. I saw Hoogerland's prang - wtf was that French TV car driver doing!!! After rejoiningthe race he was getting treatment from a motor cycle medic while still riding. 33 stitches to sort that mess out. Unreal sportsmen!
What is it now - 15-16 out already, and most with broken bones. Shame.

Evening all, I picked up a player of the match award at netball tonight, managed to keep them scoreless in the 1st half and we won in a canter. Not bad considering I could barely walk yesterday .

I going to make a prediction here. The new Rabo Pro 12 website, will be the envy of all others. I know how they operate. Its my bank. They wont take this lightly and shove out some dross. Hence they are taking time with getting it right.
It's a bank. They are obsessed with their image. Think about it. This sector of their company is an ONLINE bank. The website will reflect that.
Geloven... in de Rabodirect Pro12 League. Ja?

I guess it's better to get out a quality website a week before the league starts than a half-assed effort a week after they become sponsors.

Only London, Cardiff and Edinburgh to date Notch, finances haven't quite stretched at the right times for going further afield. I have a goal of getting to internationals and club matches in each of the 6 nations in the next 2 or 3 years though.
Hound, yesterday my ankle was just expressing it's displeasure at it's workload on Sunday with the run, it's fine today.
Just stumbled across a French ad with an "interesting" haka here

Dublin is a very good trip, I enjoy going down for matches a lot, but it is really expensive.
I've only been to Edinburgh in the Six Nations!
Must try and get over to Europe at some stage- Paris and Rome... that would be awesome.

Well done Mr MOTM.
My first night actually staying in my single room tonight. No tv, no real Internet and so I've actually ironed all my clothes for once and been to the gym twice in one day for once. The lack of tv etc seems to be really sorting my productivity out. I feel especially good for the double gym session.
Anyway, nos da. Up early tomorrow for work.

While it's quite amusing, I would think that a few people might get a bit upset that the haka is being used like that. I did enjoy the Gingerbread man version though .
This was an Aussie version that I saw at a rugby charity dinner in Dubai a few years back

I know it's been completely mental hasn't it? Some of the injuries have been horribly bad as well, hope all the riders can recover. Looks like the race directors are really trying to sort stuff out now though, no cars or motorbikes were allowed anywhere near the sprint finish thank goodness. Hope it stays that way for the rest of the tour.
Cari - ah no winning ticket from me. I actually wasn't going to buy one but my brother had facebooked me to say he had "a feeling in his waters" about it so for me to get a ticket and we'd split the winnings 50/50. Am pretty sure we haven't won anything!
And morning all, another stunner of a day in the Diff so far

The lotto was 180 million Europeans wasn’t it? I know I’m going to sound like my ma when I say this but that’s too much money for anyone to get in an instant.
The first thing I’d do with money like that is give most of it away. As long as my family, my friends and I can live comfortably forever then that’s all I’d need. 20 million would surely be enough for that!

I would set my family up for life. I wouldn't give it all away just yet.
you would earn 22thousand euro a day interest on that alone... let it build up. give that to charity every day even
Had a good night at weight watchers last night. was down 5pounds.. just 3 pounds to get to 2 stone.
I presume you are being funny about the lotto huggy or are you unwell?

Hi all. Amazing morning today. I didn't close my bedroom curtains last night and the sun woke me up at around 6.45am. Great morning, breakfast in my garden and that. In a great mood now - sun is still all shiny
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Well done on WW Micky - you'll be Little Micky when I see you!
Staggy - the sun is amazing isn't it? Especially when you don't get to see it often I prefer the moon though.

I wouldn’t worry about it Cari, they would need 2 draws after extra time from 4 games. You could buy a lotto ticket and have better odds of winning than that happening.
Micko, fair play on the weight loss man. That’s impressive stuff. You’ll always be big Mick to me, but that’s because you’re an inch taller. You git.
