The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Hobo, good for you, hope you got a good deal! Do they need training?! My only objection would be this claim: "KooGa Rugby is the world's leading rugby brand and are industry leaders in rugby wear and technological advancements" - debatable
I asked them for some wording - it was from their own mouths so feel free to take legal action!
None of us have got anything from the deal - we just want to get more members and this was the first company to support us.
From their point of view, they can use us for feedback on products etc, so its win win.

That's a shame, I was hoping that they might have offered financial support 'cos it can't be easy doing all this

Another terrible joke for y'all. Did you hear about the skeleton who tried to go to the party? He had nobody to go with.

Oh Thomond!
How about the guy who went to the Halloween Party with a naked woman on his back.
When asked what he was dressed as, he said he was a turtle and that is Michelle.

Mick’s gifts lie in his repetition of bad joke punchlines in conversion until you’re crying laughing. It doesn’t work unless you hear it in person, but suffice to say I nearly lost the use of my belly button laughing at his “rectum? Damn near kill ‘im” joke.
Oh Thomond, thought you’d like this little tale. Wandering around Amsterdam looking frantically for somewhere to watch the match, my missus started to feel a little guilty (it’s kinda her fault I missed so much of it but I won’t get into that). She said to me “if we don’t see at least half of it I’ll throw out my Cork jersey and buy a Dubs one”. I walked into the boozer with 64 minutes on the clock. Check and mate!

ah I'm missing the highlights of today's stage in the tour later, off over to a friends for food. Going to have to record it and try and watch it when I get in. Glad it seems an exciting one though

Picture the Scene,
The old west circa 1889, a Dog walks into the saloon of a dusty old town, its hind leg is in a bandage. The dog walks up to the bar, gobs a mothful of chewing tobacco out onto the floor, looks the bartender dead in the eye and says "I'm looking for the man who shot my paw".

Teamwork? Isn't it a solo sport. Or is it one of those tandem bikes
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Stag - the tour de france is made up of different teams of cyclists, Like Team HTC-Highroad (Cavendish is on that team), Team Sky etc.
You have specialist riders in all the teams, either sprinters or mountain climbers, time trialists etc and those that will be the best rider in the team to be in contention for the yellow jersey like Wiggins was for Team Sky before he got injured.
For a sprint finish etc you often get what they call a lead out train. So HTC Highroad for example will put about 6 of their riders infront of Cavendish, all going back in a line, fighting for the best racing line. They'll drop off the front one by one and allow Cav to sling shot himself forward to get the best possible chance of a sprint victory. It's amazing when it's done well, because you'll have loads of lead out trains trying to compete with each other.
(sorry if none of the above makes sense at all, I can't quite figure out how else to explain it though!)
Edit: I'm also now starting to think that you were joking with your comment...

Dreamer,
Well explained.
I would suggest, that this level of cycling, is the hardest sport in the World. Mentally and physically.
Puts rugby and boxing in their place, imo. Different sports, but individually and team-wise, it wins hands-down for me.

Pretty greulling event Gibbo.
I also put those ultra marathons up there. I saw one in Utah - 2.5 mile swim, 220 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile marathon tacked on for good measure.
The winner took over 8 hours. One guy with only 1 leg managed to finish... amazing effort!

I flippantly said that Cycling wasn’t even a sport within earshot of my brother. I was schooled in it.
Loads of tactics, team play etc. as well as the obvious MASSIVE physical exertion.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
It's so addictive...here I am at 1:30am following it. (I do have an afternoon power nap, mind)
Thinking of staying up for WWC, USA-France. That last match v Brazil was the most spiteful thing I think I've witnessed by women on a sporting field. Great finish with the americans down to 10 (wo)men.
I used to think women's football was a bit of a letdown compared to mens...but I think it has improved so much in recent years. More power and endurance and they really show no fear going for the tackles, etc. Ruthless!

I don't mind women's football either linebreaker and like you say it's really improved recently. There's less prima dona's then in the men's game as well which makes it far more watchable!

Been watching the WWC too. Skill levels are superb at this stage of the comp. More men on the pitch than a Premiership game.
This WWC has really done the womens game no harm at all. Ive really enjoyed the games Ive seen. Its on the up. Big time.

I'd genuinely like to try one of these before my time is up, or at the very least a baby one. Me and a couple of mates did a real one in the gym, i.e lengths of the pool, spinning machine, treadmill. Took us a good portion of the day and I seized up on the treadmill and couldn't finish it. 3 days to recover. Stupidest thing I've ever attempted. Preparation preparation preparation.

You need to ease into it WG.
I did a similar thing once...just too much too soon on a hot day - lost my legs after swimming plus felt so ill. Took me a few days to recover as well.

Good morning Breaker. Yeah, those people are either mad or incredible human specimens. Or both.
Remember this? Jayzuz it brings a tear to me glass eye, everytime I see it. Just humbles me whenever I moan about irrelevent BS. This is good, I find.
"Hey Da, can I go with you in the next one?"
"Of course son"
Phhhok it, Ive gone again...

Nice sentimental song Gibbo.
Is that Dick Cheney's daughter who just scored? Good counter-attacking in these games. Everyone says the US are the best but I'd like to see a France-Japan/Sweden final...maybe.

We could have been speaking french if La Perouse hadn't hesitated to stick a flag on the beach anywhere in Botany Bay. Instead Cook did it (with hours to spare apparently) and claimed half of the continent for England.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
The french have looked pretty hot. If the US try and close up shop then it could backfire. Looking forward to the 2nd half.
Just been thinking though - maybe a US-Japan final would be good. Sweden has already beaten the US in the group but that would also be an evenly matched Final.
