Re: TNA Destination X results
Speaking as someone who'sd totally and utterly given up on TNA, and has done for some time now...
On an 'X Division only!' PPV, surely the X Division title should have been the main event? There must have been a way to work the title onto Styles or Daniels, surely?

Re: TNA Destination X results
That match though, didnt need a belt to make it big - same as the Undertaker vs HBK etc.
Some matches are just so anticipated, why waste the chance to push someone else?
Having said that, I wouldnt to have wanted to see Abyss vs Kendrick in the main event, even if the match did have an emotional finish etc

Re: TNA Destination X results
Strange how the best PPV since the Hogan era began is one where they go back to pre Hogan era style.

I can appreciate that, but can't help but think that if they're serious about rebuilding the X-Division as a serious part of the show, then surely making the belt look like it means something again should be part of the thinking?
Styles vs Daniels was probably an excellent match, and without knowing the back-story to it, I'm not in a position to judge the worthiness of putting it in the main event slot, from an outsider's point of view, it just makes me think that that belt is worthless - in a PPV dedicated to that division, there's something more important than the belt for that division?

Re: TNA Destination X results
How low is Samoa Joe’s stock within the company that he lost the X Division PPV card opener.
He should without question have been a part of the main event.

Re: TNA Destination X results
Things are looking up - Aries is now officially on the TNA roster, which is huge as he is a big talent both for the X-Division and world title. An actual X-Division wrestler is now X-Division champion (!) and the rest of the card seems to have pulled out all the stops to celebrate the history of the X-Division - the 6 sided ring, AJ v Daniels (always a classic) and an ultimate X match to determine the new No 1 Contender. The MCMG are one of the greatest tag teams of the 00s but the X-Division really needs them as singles competitors again to reboot it. All in all very positive signs for the future of the X-Division.

Re: TNA Destination X results
Glad to see Austin Aries all signed up. Hopfully TNA will get a few more guys signed up such as Jimmy Wang Yang and really push this X-Divison and prove that its not just a phase.
I don't know if Joe has ticked off creative or something but the guy needs something better. He's much better than what he's getting at the moment. Now an opener on the card? I mean the guys has such poor booking in the last 12/15 months.

I really hope this is going to lead to something bigger and better for Joe, I just can't see how!? I fear that he's never going to get the push he deserves what with the ex-WWE guys and now Roode, Gunner and Crimson all staking their claim to be main eventers.

Agree with psycho about Evans, he doesnt look much but some of his moves over his two matches so far have been even more innovative than Sin Cara's..

Re: TNA Destination X results
watched the first two hours yesterday up to the RVD/Lynn match. It's the RVD match that I want to comment on - RVD has come under criticism for his nonchalent/lazy approach to his wrestling but his match was superb! It started off like a typical X-Division match but turned into a classic ECW match by the end. The match got better as it went on, RVD sold every move believably and his ring psychology was great. It seems true that Lynn and RVD get the best out of each other as I thought considering both men are in the autumn of their careers they did very well indeed. RVD was on fire at Destination X - I haven't actually been that excited by a wrestling match since Taker v HHH at Mania. The chair spots were incredible! When Lynn drop kicked RVD onto the chair while he was in mid rotation on a sweep kick was awesome and then when Lynn german suplexed RVD from the second rope onto the chair - his head and neck fully connecting with the chair - was insane! Kudos to both men for putting on a gritty and highly entertaining match. Definitely watch it if you haven't already! I rated it 4/5

Just finished watching this PPV, what a let down. In no way did it live up to the hype. RVD's match was the highlight which is saying something given how uninterested RVD has looked recently.
TNA managed to muck up the X Division only PPV, now to forget about the division until this time next year
