Aston Villa 1 - 1 Sunderland
Amauri / Adebayor

> Villa vulnerable down right side so Alves had to cover leaving Adebayor 1 on 1 with the other CB rather than the 2 on 1 planned allowing Adebayor to get a goal.
> Cahill picked up Amauri rather than Godin so alot of 2 on 1 jostling against Amauri but he stole in just once to score.
> Turan not in game, doubled up on. Dont see Friedrich as an advancing RB
> Forlan struggled to get rid of Carrick

Tottenham 1 - 1 Fulham
V.D.Vaart / Klose

> Fulham didnt do their homework properly IMO
> V.D.Weil tactics contained alot of Blackburn players
> Late goal due to no Spurs subs used and worn out

Bolton 1 - 2 Birmingham
Hamsik / Sow, Gonzales

> Good Improvements to the Spurs team.
> Like Adam at DM but feel he could be used better getting forward as well.

Stoke 1 - 2 Liverpool
A.Young / Aguero, Torres

> Stoke set out well but quality towards end paid off for Liverpool with Torres pouncing to score after coming on as sub.

Birmingham 0 - 2 Tottenham

Difficult start for the new manager at Birmingham facing the champions coming off the back of a rare defeat. Birmingham were solid enough and did create some problems, and I think the new manager shows a lot of promise given a little bit more experience of the league. However, Tottenham were just too strong and attacked from all angles. The Spurs manager seems to be back on his game and put in a tactical masterclass. In this mood, Spurs will be difficult to stop in the final 2 weeks.

Bolton 1 - 0 Aston Villa

A very closely matched game. Bolton had the better of the midfield with Carrick not being able to cope with Hamsik being the big difference. Not entirely convinced with Amauri and feel with a more potent striker, Villa could have earned the draw

Fulham 1 - 3 Everton

Fulham had a good go and seemed like a revitalised team following last weeks surprise win. However, their defence could not cope with the pace and ability in the Everton attacking 4, with Anderson surprised with the pace of the English game and of Bent.

Sunderland v Stoke - my game

Blackburn 0 - 1 Liverpool

I made allowances for Andy's mention of Carroll etc as it wasn't that clear that the transfer hadn't gone through. However, in the end the extra quality in the Liverpool team was telling and despite a great Blackburn effort, Liverpool sneeked the win.

Birmingham 2-3 Tottenham
A good performance from Birmingham and Jadson impressed. But Tottenham have a very strong side and enough quality in attack to get a good win, Birmingham can count themselves unlucky.

Bolton vs Aston Villa
my game

Fulham 1-3 Everton
I think Gago and Flamini can do a very good job and did well to stifle most of the attacks when Everton got forward. But, the full backs were given no guidance in how to deal with the wingers which allowed them to run riot.

Sunderland 1-0 Stoke
Stoke didn't have an outlet. They should have used Quagliarella or put Farfan in the centre, anything. When they got possession they didn't have that striker to put away the chances. They did do well defensively though and it was a late goal which won them the game.

Bolton 2-2 Liverpool
Blackburn have a hardworking midfield and their wingers gave Lichsteiner and Ansaldi a horrible day. Gyan worked hard upfront and got on the scoresheet. Liverpool have quality in their side and it was that which earned them the point.

Bolton 2 - 1 Aston Villa
> Carroll, Kuyt
> Hazard

Hard game to judge. However Bolton tactics were more in depth and help them have the edge over Villa

Sunderland 1 - 0 Stoke
> Ad.Johnson

Hard to break Stoke down. What swung it for me was that despite Stoke having "4 very good attacking players" none of them mentioned a finisher out of the 4. The 70th minute sub came too late.

Fulham 0 - 2 Everton
> Gervinho, Suarez

Klose was used wrongly IMO dropping back to pick up the ball, much better hassling CB's as the lone striker. And the quality in Everton's team was hard to overcome.

Birmingham 1 - 2 Tottenham
> Sow
> Benzema, Modric

Tottenham much more organised this week and with the quality in the team, they were hard to beat despite a strong effort from Birmingham.

Bolton 3 - 1 Aston Villa
Carroll, Kuyt x 2 - Hazard
Bolton really turned it on today, Kuyt was infact key as the tireless goonie scored a brace and got an assist. Villa looked a bit flat, bit more inspration required.

Fulham 0 - 1 Everton
- Suarez
Fulham battled hard but Evertons quality showed dispite only then one goal.

Sunderland 3 - 6 Stoke
Johnson, Adebayor x 2 - Hernanes, Kjaer, Gotze x 3, Young
Risky from stoke but it was a case of you score 1 we score 2. They overwelmed the sunderland back line for long periods. Sunderland didnt expect such Gung Ho force, got pinned back for long periods but when they go forward they managed goals.

Blackburn 2 - 2 Liverpool
Gyan, Marin - Aguero, Mexes
Blackburn need to strengthern the defence, top strikers will haunt them. Midfield did well and faught back for a piont.

Aston Villa 1 - 2 Birmingham

Wasn't entirely sure what tactics Villa were trying to employ - were they going to attack down the wings? Were their wingers getting crosses into the box or cutting in and playing more narrowly. I feel Villa had the better XI, but Birmingham had much better tactics. Birmingham defended deep, which nullified the threat of Defoe and Bellamy in behind. Villa didn't have a natural AM to exploit the space between midfield and defense.

Everton 3 - 3 Tottenham

What a game!! Spurs went for the jugular and surprised Everton with their sheer weight of attacking numbers. It took a while for the Everton players to figure out who eachplayer should pick up. They surged into a 2 nil lead at half time and a smile on their faces. At half time, Everton manager Smarts must have dished out the hairdryer treatment and Everton came back into the game. It was Spurs' turn to struggle as Sandro was left trying to protect the back four by himself. Everton pulled it back level by the hour mark, when Spurs made changes to solidify their side. The game returned to normal after this, when in the 60th minute, Gilardinho dived and won a dubious penalty for Spurs. This looked to have won the game until Everton made late changes and the fresh legs did enough to get Everton the equaliser and a deserved point.

Stoke 1 - 1 Bolton

Another good game and it was difficult to pick betweent the two sides. Stoke surprised Bolton by playing Quag and that, together with Young targetting Kelly making his debut, meant Stoke started the brighter and led 1-0 at half time. Bolton came back into the game in the second and their debutants settled more. Kjaer did a reasonable job on Aguero, but Bolton were expecting it and in the end Kjaer wasn't quite good enough to keep Aguero quiet all game. He popped up with an assist midway through the second half.

Liverpool 2 - 1 Fulham

Fulham set themselves up to try and get a draw IMO and they worked hard. In the end though, the Liverpool attacking force was just too fluid and too strong. They surged into a 2-0 lead and then took their foot off the gas. Gignac did cause some problems for Mexes and Gallas, who I didn't like as a combination.

Aston Villa 1-1 Birmingham
Close call here, Villa a bit dis-organised, Brum much improved.

Everton 2-8 Tottenham
Nuff Said!!

Stoke 2-1 Bolton
Tough game. Boltons were a bit weak on the wings, Ashley Young prooved decisive.

Liverpool 2-2 Fulham
Fulham well organised and worked hard and got a good point.

Blackburn 1-1 Sunderland
Carroll & Adebayor proved a handful at moments but with no supporting pace and Forlan too deep at times Blackburn manager to handle them.

Aston Villa 0 - 0 Birmingham
Aston Villa on paper have the better team and I was dissapointed Birmingham didn't play Negrado. Birmingham don't have much creativity but they were very solid and earnt a hard earned draw in the midlands derby. Aston Villa were good going forward but they couldn't grab a winner as Birmingham were to well organised. With some improved tactics Villa could be a force to be reckoned with.

Stoke 1 - 2 Bolton
Stoke are a dangerous team and Bolton will be delighted with the 3 points today. Stoke created chances but Quag has not been at his best in recent times and they relied on Young to much when going forward although he did score 1 for them. Bolton are solid defensively with 3 of Liverpools real life cbs. Going forward I think they had the right blend and Benayoun was creative for them, Di Natale and Aguero are enough to frighten any defence and they got a goal each to give Bolton all 3 points. Good tactics from both teams!

Liverpool 1 - 0 Fulham
Good set of tactics from the new Liverpool manager. Freidrich is a weakness at RB but Fulham didn't have enough about them to expose him today. They tried to nick a point but that is dangerous against this Liverpool team and they couldn't quite hold on. Lucho started well but there were not enough options going forward for him to pass to and in the end got a little frustrated.

Blackburn 1 - 1 Sunderland
No time for description as I'm leaving work no sorry.

Everton 1-2 Tottenham (Bent - VDV, Gildardinho)
The game was a hot bloodied affair with several big tackles coming in. Big controversy in the 61st minute when Gildardinho won a penalty after minimal contact.

Stoke 2-1 Bolton (Young, Hernanes - Aguero)
Ashley Young again showed his class down the wing with one assist and one goal, a mazy run for the first and the second a looping free kick onto the head of Hernanes. Bolton replied late with a goal from Aguero.

Liverpool 2-0 Fulham (Torres, Navas)
Liverpool looking ominous with a strong midfield controlling most of the game, goals either side of half time clinched it.

Blackburn 1-0 Sunderland (Gyan)
Blackburn got an early goal and locked up shop and went home, Sunderland came close a few times and on another day could have had a hatful but it wasn't their day.

Aston Villa 1-1 Birmingham
Defoe and Bellamy caused some real problems with their pace and Aston Villa are very strong defensively. However with Srna and Capdevilla preparations were not made to help cover them as they like to go forward. Sow impressed for Birmingham as he often beat Marquez with his pace. Draw is probably a fair result.

Everton 3-2 Tottenham
Tottenham went on the attack but they lacked real control in midfield. They should have been slightly more defensive and had a proper partner in midfield for Sandro. Merieles had a lot of time and was impressive today. Benzema for me was wasted playing him out wide, maybe if they'd have played Modric instead of VDV they could have put Zarate on the right, Coentrao left and paired Modric with Sandro.

Stoke 2-0 Bolton
Naldo struggled against Quagliarella, and out wide Sturridge and Benayoun didn't help their full backs. Kjaer took Aguero out of the game and this meant Bolton struggled for ideas. A very strong performance from Stoke today and a good win. I would have maybe played Hernanes in a deeper role though, perhaps in a 'V' midfield.

Blackburn 3-1 Sunderland
It was three on one in the midfield battle which is reflected in the scoreline. Fellaini was left with too much to do with the rest of the midfield deserting him. Sunderland struggled for possession big time today and I think Parker may have been a wiser option.

Birmingham 0-0 Everton
Birmingham tried, put in a good performance, and got their reward. Isla and Monreal did well to stop their wingers. Balotelli and Sow asked questions of the Everton defense. The tight midfield worked well.

Aston Villa 1-4 Stoke
Excellent performance from Stoke who absolutely demolished Villa today. Aston Villa were poor, they weren't very committed, put their wingers on the wrong wings. Valbuena and Young both terrific, and Farfan got some accurate crosses in throughout creating chances as Srna wasn't helping out enough.

Tottenham vs Liverpool
My game

Bolton 1-0 Blackburn
Gave Bolton the benefit of the doubt putting tactics to play against Stoke at the top. Bolton for me struggled to get into the game as they weren't tactically good enough, they should have been more detailed.

Fulham 1-1 Sunderland
Sunderland have the better players, but Fulham played three at the back and kept it tight. Romero took a corner and Sunderland quickly broke to score. Reyes then won a penalty in the final minute leading to a late, late equaliser.

Birmingham 0-1 Everton

Birmingham kept it tight centrally, but on the wings, Mata in particular, they have real quality. The game looked to be heading for a 0-0, but Birmingham were reduced to 10 men when Balotelli was sent off for pucnhing Sakho. No obvious reason, but he seemed upset. Everton made their extra man count by stretching the 10 men with their passing style and Alvarez got the winner beating Isla to the header from a Mata cross.

Aston Villa 0 - 2 Stoke

Villa looked lacklustre today, with limited tactical direction. Stoke were well set-up and with good direction from their manager, they could easily have won by more.

Tottenham 1 - 2 Liverpool

This match proved a battle between the Tottenham full backs and the Liverpool wingers. For me the Liverpool wingers had that bit of extra quality, and pushed the Tottenham full backs back enough to eliminate any attacking threat from out wide. When Sandro and Cambiasso tried to help out the full backs, this left Modric exposed to a Liverpool midfield of De Rossi, Lass and Gerrard, which was dominant. Tottenham did cause problems with their attacking 3, but they didn't have enough possession behind them to get enough opportunities to win the game.

Bolton 1 - 0 Blackburn

A new manager at Blackburn and although his tactics were okay, there is still work to do. Bolton had a much better understanding of what their manager wanted, and this was enough to see off Blackburn.

Fulham 2 - 0 Sunderland

A close game won through two pieces of magic by Romero, the first a diving header from his own corner and then the second a direct free kick straight in the top corner.

Tottenham 0 Liverpool 2
The fact that Tottenham fielded an injured player in Metersacker made this all to easy for Liverpool. Even the misfiring Torres managed to grab a goal.

Bolton 2 Blackburn 0
Blackburn lacked instruction against a well drilled well organised Bolton side. They will need to expand on their tactics in future weeks. Other than that I liked the 4-4-2 of Rovers.

Fulham 0 Sunderland 1
Despite the laughs Fulhams tactics provided me with this Sunderland team were just to good, however Romero did come close with a 20 yard drive just shaving the crossbar.

Stoke 1 Aston Villa 1
Close game. Aston Villas central midfielders were outstanding today and had a lot more energy in the centre of the park than the Stoke midfielders. Stoke were dangerous in the wide ares but Villa have very experianced fullbacks to combat against that. In the end a point each was fair.
