James Harrison blasts commissioner

James Harrison is still p issed about all those fines Commissioner Goodell gave him.

"If that man was on fire and I had to p iss to put him out, I wouldn't do it," Harrison told the magazine. "I hate him and will never respect him."

His other descriptions of the commissioner include an anti-gay slur, "stupid," "puppet" and "dictator."


Hmmm with no CBA, I wonder if the commissioner can still fine him for his comments? Not as a personal response to an attack on Goodell the man, but because Harrison is disparaging the Commissioner. (If it was the NBA, Stern would drop the hammer on him).

When asked about Roethlisberger's two picks in the Super Bowl, Harrison was still upset about them.

"Hey, at least throw a pick on their side of the field instead of asking the D to bail you out again," Harrison said. "Or hand the ball off and stop trying to act like Peyton Manning. You ain't that and you know it, man; you just get paid like he does."

Ouch.

He also called Mendenhall a "fumble machine." Should be nice and friendly in the Steelers' locker room this season (whenever that is).

Maybe Harrison should look at his own performance before he throws others under the bus given he had 1 sack in total.

Can kinda understand his frustration towards the commisioner but its a TEAM sport can believe the way he layed into his teammates

I'd be very careful if I was James Harrison. Doubt his teammates will be as quick to jump to his defense should he be fined again. And with the way the Steelers churn out LBs and with Woodley a star in the making I wouldn't be too settled.

All in all, its verging on Pacman level of stupidity.

The guy is a total moron. He was treading on thin ice as it is. He's just acting like a petulant diva.

I suppose this is another example of players behaving stupidly during the lockout. I would hope that had Harrison been with the Steelers over the summer this would never have happened as people would have talked him down from attacking the Commissioner and he would have realised that as a team game everyone has to share the burden of the Superbowl loss. The comments about Big Ben and Rashard are beyond belief.

That being said I'm neither a fan of him or the Steelers so I think I'll enjoy how this continues to develop.

I think Harrison is a legend, this interview has created more discussion and debate than anything else in the world of NFL in the last 4 months.

Mr Harrison has issued an apology how meaningful this is is anyone's guest. Maybe it was a case of engage brain before opening mouth?

The guy doesn't have a brain, he's just a thug.

It sounds a lot like Kenny Britt's 'retirement' and subsequent reversal. He's suddenly come to his senses and realised that what he said was ridiculous and has tried to rescue the situation.
