Nothing less than going through will be good enough.

Great draw for Rangers, they could be doing with the money, defeat is not an option, i hope Ally will put out a team in the next few friendly's that he's planning to start the season with, the kids have had a decent run now, time to start building for the season and getting some players in. Germany is only for fitness but it's not been great so far. They couldn't have been handed a better draw.

It won't be that easy a game. Malmo are the likely victors of the game against the Faroese and Sweden are right in the middle of their season so will probably be a lot fitter, sharper and quicker whilst the league is not of a disimilar standard to the SPL. Probably a lot tighter than you'd imagine.

Re: Champions league third qualifying
........and there lies the whole problem with Scottish football, you actually believe you are big teams, when in fact you're from a football backwater.
Malmo will be a much tougher team than you think. Swedish champs last year and some good players, plus they're halfway through the season so will already be in the groove, not just off the beach.

Just being realistic. Rangers (Scottish football) are not as good as you think they are, and Swedish football is better than you think.
I think you'll still probably win, but it won't be as easy as think.

Im not saying we're great but Rangers & Celtic are 2 of the biggest teams in Britain, i'd say only Man Utd & Liverpool are bigger.

In terms of their name yes, but in terms of footballing ability I'd say about 15 of the 20 teams in the EPL, if not more could beat Celtic and Rangers.

User, being big in terms of your support is no guarantee of quality. It was only last year that Rangers were totally pumped 4-1 AT HOME by some no mark team from the back end of nowhere.
A few years ago both Glasgow teams had the players to be top 6-8 in the EPL, now I think they'd be about the same in the Championship.
Harsh, but probably true.

Super, although I can see your point do you have to be such a downer all the time? A little Euro success might give Scottish football the kick in the keister you want so bad

I'd like to see some euro success, but it's not likely to happen. Qualifying will be seen as a success.

Okay, let me put it another way, if Celtic and Rangers were in the EPL they'd be around the level of struggling at the bottom, possibly mid-card. They are big in terms of support and their name value, but in terms of quality they are very low, and that's what the debate is.

No the debate is whether Rangers will qualify or not. Lets not let another thread crumble into a "why scotland is/isn't pish at fitbaw" debate.

Re: Champions league third qualifying
Will they qualify? Probably.
Will it be as easy as some people seem to think. No.
Why? because Rangers and Celtic are not as good as their fans think as they seem to confuse fanbase and stadia with how good a team actually is.

Yes, in the 1st year, but i cant be bothered with another Rangers/Celtic in the EPL argument.

Re: Champions league third qualifying
Yeah I doubt their going to be convincing wins never mind decisive. But I reckon that we'll win none the less. And if we don't Mr McCoist is going to have some questions to answer.
And we're not confused about how good our teams are. Its called support for a reason, we get behind our teams. If it was Barca we were playing then maybe I'd be a little pessimistic but against Malmo I gotta say I fancy our chances
