Total Film Top 50 Sci-Fi Movies Ever Made

Don't know if anyone else has seen this list in this months Total Film. List is at the following link

top 5 looks like this

5 - A New Hope
4 - Alien
3 - 2001 - A Space Odyssey
2 - The Empire Strikes Back
1 - Blade Runner

Don't personally agree with Blade Runner at 1, I would of put Empire at 1. Avatar is at number 11! Far to high in my opinion.

What I don't understand is, Return Of The Jedi is not even in the top 50??

What's everybody else's thoughts? What would your top 5 be?

My top 5 are the first 5 star trek films

Where is This Island Earth?
The Day the Earth Stood Still (original) as well as Forbidden Planet would be higher well above Wall E
crazygangwomble- you are right about Avatar too high, I still don't know if I like the film the special effects are great but something about the film annoys me. Too many parallels with what the "civilised" world did to the red Indians ,aboriginals and Zulus.
Bladerunner for sure
The four films above in that order with the new Star Trek being fifth
I didn't see the original Time Machine which is worth a mention and a watch

I hate Total Film. Empire all the way
