the viscount returns to the squad in place of dirk nannes whose time with surrey has now finished.
surprisingly after appearing in the first 5 games there is no place for matthew spriegel.
The full Surrey Lions side to play Durham Dynamos at Chester-le-Street in the Clydesdale Bank 40 on Sunday July 17th is:

The match will be televised by Sky Sports HD1 with the programme due to start at 1pm and the first ball bowled at 1.05pm

Spriegel really should be playing as he impressed earlier on in the competion. I assume this means Wilson at 6. I would play Ansari and Schofield and leave Batty out.

Still no sign of another batsman and still very light in batting. Bowling is significantly weakened without Nannes so I'm not at all consider about this one. What's the weather forecast? It's tipping down in most places today!

Bit surprising about Spriegel but I guess Ansari is the man in possession. I think the team will be (not necessarily in this batting order):

Meaker/Arafat - depending on who has picked themselves off floor first

The Viscount

Surrey as a few have said look light on the batting and with Onions and Harmy bowling could do with that extra batter Your top order will need to deliver. C'mon the Dynamos!

On a side not I am very impressed with Roy and Ansari future England starts i'm certain.

As someone who does regular patrols up the M25/A11/A1 to the troops garrisoned at Durham University I just hope that match is not rained off (Though that wouldn't be a bad result if we are looking for qualification for next stages)

I suspect Meaker will just be edged out with Adams giving Arafat another chance to redeem himself.

I'm also a bit surprised about Spriegel. I think the 40 over game is the best format for him. Useful support batsman at number six as already shown this season.

2 innings by spriegel that should have kept him in the squad scotland away 82 not out when he came in we was 110 for 4 and the hampshire away game when him and roy saw us home under immense pressure when he walked to the wkt we was 45 for 5. and finished 29 not out pretty bad by adams if you ask me

wilson played in our first 2 game did not bat in one and scored 0 in the other one so how the hell does he gets in ahead of spriegel?

Perhaps Wilson makes the cut as Adams is thinking of taking a leaf out of the England selectors' book and dropping Davies from a one day squad without good reason?

judging by his twitter account it looks like spriegel has traveled up.

Good to have you join the discussion, Liam, are you going to be at the match tomorrow? I have to say it's quite nice to play Durham, quite a rare fixture these days what with us being in seperate T20 groups and down in Div 2 of the CC.

Our best chance is to bat first, assuming conditions aren't bowling heaven, as we are poor at chasing a target.

No hardship to go to Durham - a fine part of the country. I was garrisoned there for three years studying military history so was not disappointed when Humblepail III also decided to go North.

Corporal - a fine part of the country, indeed. I was only referring to the length of the journey for you - particularly if the snow plough is being used by others in the winter months!

Liam - it'll be good to have your views from a Durham perspective. I hope the weather behaves for all ....

Guilford- Forecast says some light rain for tomorrow hopefully not to heavy so the players can stay on.

That's a shame, I'll only be in for the end of the match as I'm working (monkeys still need to be fed on Sundays!) but I'm planning on Sky+ing it and watching it when I get back, in which case I won't be around until the aftermath on here has begun! Good luck!

I'll also probably not be back til after the match... Have to drive convoy to W Mids again.....

Corporal - probably worth popping into Stores on the way for a supply of tin helmets if you're caught in the middle ground of Sir Winston and Flurdileze lobbing grenades at each other on the wallpaper site ....

From a qualification point of view, one point from a ''no result'' might be a good result for Surrey but I would always rather there was a game!

Durham need a win here really we can't go to behind the front-runners.

It's been a alright start from us though just need a win here to steady the ship.

That is some result: 0 from 7 Scotland put one over on 5 from 5 Northants. Meanwhile, the sweet northern rain helps us keep Durham at arm's length having played one game fewer than them.

Mind you, it wasn't so long ago I posted about Middx having done us a T20 favour by beating Zummerzet...
