Re: Batman The Dark Knight Rises trailer
i think sony would want abit more then what you gave as you know they know the character is worth lots and that Marvel would do pretty much anything to get him into an Avengers film.

TV spots have started to appear, and there's also this additional trailer:

He's not afraid. He's angry.
Not sure if we should like him when he's angry.

Empire's review:
http://www.empireonline.com/reviews/reviewcomplete.asp?FID=137000
I tend to find these people quite objective, so one of their rare 5 star reviews is a very good sign and a bit of a relief given how much I've been looking forward to this movie.

They did give the Phantom Menace 4* though!
I am a long time member of the EMpire website (and long term subscriber) but there reviews in the last 6 months have got progressively worse.
Still reckon the film will rock though!

That was Flip unreal. Apologies for the language but wow, that was insane. Bane, seemed like they modified his voice despite saying they didn't but didn't make a huge difference. Bale did a great job as Bruce Wayne/Batman he was a lot more than just a vigillante in this one. Joseph Gordon Levitt was close to being the best in my view, he acted superbly and I think he did a great job.
Overall a 9 or so, incredibly good.

- Spoiler:
John Blake to be the new Batman in a reboot? I would be very confident of that happening, also Wayne didn't die so it leaves it open to another but I think they will leave it there. It was simply a superb film. I liek how Alfred came back sort of a call back to the first film. Similar to Cillian Murphy as Scarcrow, who was intrigiuin in his small part. While it references the second, I feel that in a lot of ways it is almost a sequel to the first rather than a sequel to The Dark Knight.

Re: Batman The Dark Knight Rises trailer
Thomond I reckon so. I thought this was arguably the best of the three Batman films.
DO NOT OPEN IF YOU PLAN TO SEE THE MOVIE If you have seen it take a look.
A few thoughts:
DO NOT OPEN IF YOU PLAN TO SEE THE MOVIE If you have seen it take a look.
A few thoughts:
- Spoiler:
- I thought they chickened out at the ending where Alfred sees Bruce and Selina. How much better would it have been if Alfred simply looked to the camera and gave a half nod/half smile and we didn't know whether or not he really saw Bruce or not.
- John Blake was a great character portrayed excellently. He was superb.
- Anne Hathaway has silenced her critics. That scene at the start where she relevead her true colour and made the transformation from silent waitress to cat burglar was excellent.
- This was one of the only superhero film ever I watched where with an hour to go I found myself thinking "Seriously HOW are things going to be ok at the end?"
- Although it was the worst kept secret that Miranta Tait was Talia Al Ghul they managed to do that really really well by implying that Bane was Ra's Al Ghuls son instead.
- I think if done right Bane as a mute could have really worked. Maybe with some Darth Vader style breathing to match.

- Spoiler:
- I don't think Bane was too bad, I think you needed the voice really, Darth Vader talks like even if it is a bit limited.
I think they could have done without the nod. I knew he was alive anyway, sure he says the Autopilot on the thing was fixed, you kinda knew he would live.
Agree on Blake and Levitt's portrayal he was superb. I think he may end up as Batman in a reboot.
The movie was as much about Bruce Wayne as much as it was about Batman. I enjoyed that and Bale toko charge unlike in The Dark Knight.
It was more of a sequel to Batman Begins though.

Re: Batman The Dark Knight Rises trailer
- Spoiler:
Yea it was a definitely closer to the Batman Begins than Dark Knight which I liked. Dark Knight is my least favourite of them (they're all great but if you had to choose of course). Take out Heath Ledger from that film and it has nothing.
In this I thought there were no characters who really fell short.
The scale of damage was so much greater in this. It was very close to the video game Arkham City. I watched so many trailers and did not for a second think that they would end up with an isolated city ruled by a warlord.
I knew that "Bane breaks The Bat" but I was thinking going into it that it would be stupid to have it so literal as not too realistic. You know what though it worked. There was a stunned silence and it will go down as an iconic cinema moment.

I agree, I heard it was something that happened in the graphic novel and wasn't sure it would work but it was really done well, liked the whole pit scenario too, was well put together. Broken to be built back up, kinda Rocky like but done far better. Nothing may be harsh on other characters from TDK. Dent is a decent character, Gordon and Batman are decent in it. I think Fox and Alfred play quite a good role. But if you take Ledger out it goes from a 9 to a 7 or 6.
I think that while there was no standout performance besides maybe Jospeh Gordon Levitt's, it is a better film overall as everyone does a great job unlike TDK which is carried somewhat.

I think Nolan is on record as saying that's the final one, it's a trilogy, no need to cram in another one and make it rubbish. I think Batman could be played by your man, unlike some Super Heroes I think Batman is always Bruce Wayne? Might be wrong on that otherways could be worked that your man takes over as anyone can be Batman kind of a deal. Which they kinda say in the films. We'll see anywya I though he was superb as John Blake.

I heard it was a trilogy- thats why i was so shocked that they had the ending they did- they tied robin in and left it conclusive that wayne was alive,There cant be another reason for this other than a possibility of a way back in for a 4th- surely. This film doesnt feel like a conclusive end to me

I think I would be disappointed if it happened, I think they will leave it at that, it is almost setting it up for a reboot really. I think it ends with Wayne seemingly retired. Anything now would probably be a letdown and forced.

The Dark Knight was better, in my opinion. The end was a bit confusing, and sets up for another sequel (which would be lame as Batman would probably not be in it). 7/10 is Morg's rating.

The ending was brilliant - it reminded me of Inception, was he, wasn't he? That's the genius of Nolan. For me the film was true in spirit to the graphic novels - Batman after all is a symbol: a symbol of hope to the citizens of Gotham and a symbol of fear for the criminals. Therefore Batman doesn't strictly speaking need to be Bruce Wayne. If you read the Grant Morrison Batman series Dick Grayson becomes Batman while Bruce is MIA and Bruce's son Damien becomes Robin. Then you have the Batman Incorporated novel where Bruce establishes Batmen for all major cities.

I thought the film was breath taking. Everything about it was superb. For me though, the icing on the cake was Hans zimmer's score. Absolutely unbelievable. He always knows how to evoke the audience.
- Spoiler:
The ending was superb. The realisation when Fox learned of the software upgrade on the Batcopter was a touch of genius, and the revealing of Blake's identity. Simply awesome.

Also Bruce Wayne is alive, autopilot has been fixed etc, so he didn't have to stay in it. I think this is the end of Batman under Nolan, there will be a reboot within 5 years. With the success of the Avengers a Justice League deal will be done with DC. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gordon Levitt to get the role. He was great.

I don't think he's made a bad film, ever. Have you seen 'Doodlebug'? I think he made it back in college, but you can watch it on youtube. It's only a short video, but it's a great little piece. Worth a watch. I think 'Insomia' is probably his worsed, but even that's pretty good really!

Re: Batman The Dark Knight Rises trailer
Just watched it. Personally, I think it's my favourite one.
I am still buzzing some 25 minutes after it. I'd give it an 8.5 I think, if not a 9.
- Spoiler:
- I agree with Stag on Anne Hathaway's transformation. Also, I never really fancied her before, but after the whole suit and the bike, I think I'm in love
Bane was annoyingly inaudible at times, but the impression I got (not from here) was you couldn't make out hardly anything he said which isn't the case.
I absolutely loved the way that Batman revealed himself to Gordon at the end. Reminded me of how he revealed himself to Rachel in Batman Begins (which is one of my favourite quotes from any film)
"Robin" was a great character. Superbly played.
I am still buzzing some 25 minutes after it. I'd give it an 8.5 I think, if not a 9.
