Gervinho.
The 24-year-old scored 15 goals to help Lille win the French league and Cup double last season.
"It's a great feeling to be an Arsenal player. I've always dreamed to play for this club," he said after signing a long-term contract.
Arsene Wenger told the club's website: "He has qualities that I find very important. I think he is a very good addition to the squad."
Arsène Wenger has revealed that Denilson is set to go back to Brazil on loan.
The 23-year-old midfielder found it hard to break into the first-team last term having been a regular in 2008-09 and playing in roughly half the games in the campaign that followed. However in 2010-11, he started less than ten Premier League or Champions League games; a statistic that may have prompted the move.

Got Gervinho on FM and he's a total beast. He should be fine.

Re: denilson leaves as gervinho signs
Glad that we've finally signed someone - but it really says something that we couldn't find a buyer for Denilson and he has to go out on loan instead (if this report is true).
I'd still like us to buy another striker and a CB/left back and we'll have a good side.
I would also like Parker, but with Fab, Nasri, Wiltshire, Ramsey, Song and Diaby there, with Eastmond and Frimpong coming through there isn't any space for him unfortunately...

In my opinion, Arsenal's ambition for next year can't be ascertained until the Nasri/Cesc saga's have been resolved. If they both leave, Wenger HAS to buy.

It could say lots of different things:Smirnoffpriest wrote:Glad that we've finally signed someone - but it really says something that we couldn't find a buyer for Denilson and he has to go out on loan instead (if this report is true).
He's rubbish and no teams want to sign him.
You're asking for more money than people are so far willing to offer.
You feel you have a better chance of selling him in future transfer windows when they'll have seen him play.
You feel you can negotiate a buy at the end of loan clause into the deal.
You feel he has plenty of potential but currently don't have room for him in the squad and there's no point paying him to sit on a bench when other teams will pay his wages, with maybe some cash upfront or performance based extras.

I suppose thats true Derbyblue - but think either we're paying him too much and no other team will match his wages (which isn't good) or other teams think he's rubbish and no one wants him (which isn't good).
I doubt with the amount of midfielders we've got that Wenger wants to keep him - but then i could very well be wrong
