Yeah I was being deliberatly obtuse there. The point is Kumar clearly has a a problem with running on the pitch. I dont think its a deliberate ployt to rip the pitch up.

Trott is the only English batsman that looked relatively at ease with the Indian bowlers.

I gather the Indian bowlers are demonstrating the virtues of line and length.

Chuckle. One of the joys of a Pietersen innings when you are listening is the sense of incipient heart attack among the commentators, seasoned pros and cricket watchers to a man, and NONE of them have a clue what Pietersen will do next.

Who thinks Pietersen was out? I think Dravid caught it dropped it and scoped it up all a couple of inches off the ground.

Thankfully that rush of adrenaline Pietersen seem to have has gone.

I think a positive team would be looking for that sort of score. Still very possible, imo. The talent is there and the foundations for something around there solidly laid. If England want to be the no 1 team they have to do that sort of thing. Regularly, too.

Bat 'til tea tomorrow and give India a tough last session with no chance of winning the game.

600 is still a long way away but with these conditions it is still very much a possibillity. A lot depends on the weather still though. If England get 500 and the weather turns cloudy and induces swinging conditions, i would'nt be suprised if Strauss declared.

Exactly, a proper ball tracking system and 3D camera technology could have made a clear decision on the catch.
Youre very biased to say it was a clear catch though, the fielders umpire and review officals werrent certain it was a catch. How can you tell it was a clear catch if the review official cant?
There is technology in existance that could have made a convincing decision.

It was wrong to say its an umpiring mistake. The umpire in this case had no way of seeing if it was a clean ctach so asked teh 4th umpire to review. Looking at the review he couldnt see any clear evidence it was a catch. Benefit of the doubt where theres no convincing evidence, without the reveiw system the same thing would have happened. With 3D high resolution high frame rate cameras and ball tracking we MIGHT have had a different decision, or we MIGHT have had clear evidence that it was grounded.

When it comes to lbws the same applies. You will get more evidence to base the decision on with it than without it. And the better the technology used the better the information the umpires have to base their decisions on and the less whinging there is on borderline calls.

Pietersen is a cheat and even if he gets a hundred its tainted.

He clearly saw Dravid take the catch and refused to walk off.

Didn't see great umpires the Dickie Bird and David Sheppard make silly mistakes.

kp hasn't looked ok since ball one. It's amazing he's still there. Bell, on the other hand, is quietly accumulating. Gosh he's a beautiful player. I can see that just listening to the commentary.
