oh and Broad has been pants with th ebat for months now.. clearly not the all rounder once promised. Bresnan is a better option all round. Drop Broad.

390/7. 450 still looks on if these 2 stick around, maybe 475. Kumar has really bowled fantastic but I'd still say England are on top.

Odd fiver'fer this. nothing stunning about him but people have wanted to gift him their wickets too often.
i think this'll boost india to the level they can't be touched in this series. worlds best, england dead.

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
Trott and Bell made decent contributions...although Bell got out playing a daft shot. Prior was going great too until he chased on he should've left alone, but at least he got a score under his belt.
Strauss still due a good score. Cookie was due a poor one after the run he's been on.
I've been behaving myself too today, until now...
England really need a Swann 50 now and for KP to keep doing what he's been doing.

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
Well tuffers felt 450 would have been a good target given that India expected to hammer england after putting them in. so they've fallen short again but not too short.

Are you trying to undo trebell's good work eirebilly?
You should know by now its ALWAYS possible for England to lose from just about ANY position.

England's 400 up, along with KP's 150. Congrats on both fronts.

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
i'm now working overtime wolfie.. I have to just to counter our Billy.
India might regret letting KP play himself back into confidence. Bad idea.
Mind you, they are the best team in the world ever so probably not.

indeed wolfster.
400 when put in on day one at a clody lords against a super team is actually pretty good.

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
Trebell you shouldn't blame Billy for the two wickets...was clearly my fault , see the timing just after my confident hint of declaration etc...
Not to worry I think the score will be enough if the bowlers are on their game...and if they aren't even 600 wouldn't be enough for a win against this opponent.
Be nice to see a useful hand from Swann though...

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
true that. at least someone has put a score up against them. Windies were struggling badly to do that in that series in easier conditions.

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
Which do we want now : Swann/Jimmy to support KP through to the close and a BIG score , or some quick runs and a dash at India tonight?
Ball seems to have done enough for Kumar today so I'd think Jimmy would be dangerous to some tired bats ...
(Must confess I've only been able to watch patches of play today as Le Tour took up a fair bit of viewing time , but the sense I have is that England have done pretty well to get up to this position. Feeling quite confident about this game)

Between Singh and Sharma they have conceeded 250+ runs for no wicket. That has to be a concern for India

hmm 450 nearly. to me that's enough to make a team doubt putting you in was the best idea.
but what else would you do at a cloudy Lords?

441/7 at drinks ... losing those wickets doesn't seem to have slowed things up

Lucky trebbs. Absolutely shocking news isnt it.
Who was the poster that called that England would lift their RR to 3.5 after this session? Great call that was.

Pietersen is some flat rack bully. 8 hundreds at Lords and Oval combine. Two of the flattest roads in Test cricket. Pietersen isn't a shade on Sehwag

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
and not a damn was given that day.
KP is brilliant today.
Swannage gone.
Darned fine score now.
Tuffers will be happy. He wanted 450 to make India regret putting them in, he got it.
Me , I wanted 500 but i'm not unhappy. India cannot be too proud of this.
