Trebs is indeed in great form
Took him just 3 minutes to bag that wicket

its gonna be a real test of indians technique at trent bridge as well, when it swings round corners.

Looks like Dravid has to be Golaith again in his innings.

sometimes you just feel good in a session and it works for you, sometimes it doesn't.

This is why you persist with Broad over Bresnan. An honest bowler like Bresnan isn't good enough against this lineup, Broad can deliver something special.

bresnan is good enough, like athers said both would have done very well

Bresnan's an honest bowler, good but never going to be great. Broad's almost becoming our Mitchell Johnson.

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
Broads adds that extra pace which England could do with while Bresnan only bowls in the low 80s.
Re: England vs India 1st test debate
Bresnan will have to wait his turn now, cricketfan90...
I think he'd have done OK , but doubt he would have produced the match Broad has had. With a few more wickets to follow , the way he's bowling

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
India's poor record in the first test of the series continues. with all the injuries, I don't see India saving this one. Gambhir's injury is the most horendous in this context, if anyone could have batted for their dear life, it was him. He for me, when he is around gives me that sense of everything will be allright sense in such situations, more than Sachin, more than Dravid the wall, and more than VVS the crisis man who can play match-winning knocks in real tough situations. But if you have to save a game, it has to be Gautam. any idea about his condition?

india wont get that amount of runs, but it will be hard for us to get 9 wickets on a road.

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
Thanks billy for that reasuring bit of information on Gambhir. Now I can at least think a bit more positively. May be Sachin's non-availability at 4 would be what India need, they may need him at the end to bat them to safety

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
this shows how difficult team selection is...
cos with overhead conditions on the first day, it screams play extra batsman, wont need 5 bowlers, but we have no part timers so may struggle tomorrow

In that case, I hope he gets enough rest before he comes in at 4.trebellbobaggins wrote:msp83 wrote:India's poor record in the first test of the series continues. with all the injuries, I don't see India saving this one. So Dravid and VVS see us through a rather deflating day, hopefully they can build on it further, and the rest can emulate them.

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
Well played by India in the end. I still feel that England have enough but a draw is probably the most expected result

Re: England vs India 1st test debate
The man who'd have believed India could still win from here on is unfortunately not playing this game, India without Virender Sehwag, England can be rest asured they won't even go for it.
