Ratchford signs for Wolves

Stefan Ratchford has signed a 3 year contract with Warrington Wolves from next season much to the annoyance of Salford coach Steve Parish who said " Warrington have come down last year and taken a player ( Ritchie Myler) and now they have done it again " " Personally i dont think it is right , but its upto the kid and hes made his decision so good luck to him . From our perspective we dont intend to let this ever happen again."

Ive always rated Ratchford and think he will make an ideal replacement for Lee Briers when he retires or leaves Warrington .

Good forward planning by Warrington. Salford seem pretty pished though!

A good signing by the Wolves. With Matt King returning to OZ this freed up the money to move for Stefan.

It does beggar the question how do Warrington stay inside the salary cap with so many high profile players ?

I think in this case Matt King going back to Australia would have freed up enough money for Stefan.
In my opinion i think Stefan will come on in leaps and bounds now that Tony Smith is his coach.

I agree Ratchford will be on nowhere near the salary as King was ( reportedly 200grand+ ) but i cant see Warrington not bringing in a big name Aussie to replace him either . I agree with you about Ratchford being coached by Smith will bring him on , Stefan and Ritchie Myler had a good partnership at Salford and under Smith that should get better which is great for England aswell .

It won't happen, but wouldn't it be nice if Warrington didn't sign no more overseas players.

It would be nice but i do think they will sign a big name .

Do they need to sign a replacement for King? He's been replaced in the centres by Atkins and Bridge. When he goes, they'll still have Riley to come back in on the opposite side to Monaghan. There's also Rhys Evans and Williams.

They dont need to but they are losing a big high profile name in King , imo they will be looking to sign someone of equal standing . It may not be a wing/centre .

Unfortunately for the likes of me and others he will come from the NRL.
