Who'll win the Race to Dubai in 2011?
Who'll triumph in the R2D 2011?
Just for giggles and to see if I can suss the Poll feature, cast your predictions for this year's R2D winner.
I know the selection is not to everyone's taste in which case, choose 'Other' and say who you reckon'll win. We'll see who got it right come the end of the year.
Edit: Should say that I plumped for LW. Like his attitude and how good he's been the last two years. Be tough though if MK keeps up the form of last week!

After what Kaymer did last week i can't see past him... 4 wins last year, I expect him to equal or better that this year, if Westwood can win a much deserved Major and pic up a few other he could push him all the way but I expect Kaymer to prevail from Westwood...

Good use of a very handy poll feature.
Went for Gmac. Should be another really close one this year such is the competitiveness in Europe. Just thought he might push on from a fantastic 2010 - he seems like the kind of player that thrives on success rather than resting on it...

NBS: I chose other, but I couldn't tell you who is going to win. Is that a bit of a cop out? It will be interesting to see if McDowell, Westwood and Kaymer can keep up the heady heights they have been achieving. Hopefully they can keep up the good work, LW wins a major and shuts up Simba...

Given the support for Kaymer winning the race to Dubai do we agree he will become world number one assuming Tiger does not find his A game?

Mac
To soon to write Tiger off, I am not a Tiger fan, but the guy has that much class that I think his B game will be enough to win a few Majors, this year. Hope Westwood can keep his no 1 spot, but he must play better than he did last week.

OPW, I have to disagree Tiger B game doesn't beat Westwood or Kaymer's A game... they are far too steady compared to Tiger (although he appears to have been steady today)...
Tiger needs to to be back to something close his best to upsurp Kaymer and Westwood in my opinion.

I take it back - he wasn't steady yesterday - his scorecard just looked like it was - i'm reliabley informed he was wild off the tee...

I think Kaymer, barring any injury (and he really doesn't look the type to succumb to injury) will win a fairly close R2D this year (Gmac & LW breathing down his neck, possibly Rory as well but we'll see) but he will come through and be WN1 too. By the time he turns 30 Kaymer's stranglehold on the WN1 slot will be as strong as Woods was in his pomp.

Back to the past... another random thread to resurrect.
Kaymer, Kaymer, Kaymer. World number 1 and R2D winner for 2011? What went wrong? Was it really that difficult to learn to play a draw? Is he on his way back?
No mention of Luuuuke Donald anywhere.
"By the time he turns 30 Kaymer's stranglehold on the WN1 slot will be as strong as Woods was in his pomp." JAS has still got a year to go before this prediction runs out, but the world no 42 has a lot of winning to do.
"[Tiger's] B game will be enough to win a few Majors, this year" Still waiting oldparwin!

The good work seems to have worn off and Simba did get shut up but that was by his own doing as opposed to Westwood winning a major.1GrumpyGolfer wrote:It will be interesting to see if McDowell, Westwood and Kaymer can keep up the heady heights they have been achieving. Simba was hilarious, I think he got expelled after a few too many insults.
