Defensive Leppers
First topic message reminder :
Following on from an earlier article about tough defenders i thought we'd go the other way and see about a team of the very worst defenders going.
Here's mine:
1. Tim Payne
2. John Smit
3. Dunnings
4. AWJ
5. Mumm
6. Powell
7.
8. Kankowski
9. Pienaar
10. Q Cooper
11. Tait
12. Darcy
13. Olivier
14. Balshaw
15. Cipriani
Any help with the other positions?

Re: Defensive Leppers
You cant judge Dan Parks on tackling ability, Hes never made one! watch any clips of him from the past year and a half, and youll see he always does this lunge thing pretending hes going to tackle, and not actually doing it.

Re: Defensive Leppers
Tait's a harsh inclusion - OK, he's not a monster tackler, but he doesn't miss many and brings his man down. Plenty of wingers who are worse (Ashton,,,)., and if you ar elooking for an all time awful defender there was always Nigel Walker - used his electrifying pace to be nowhere to be seen in defence.
Borthwick or Nick Kennedy for the 2nd row? Both big guys who play distinctly below that level of physicality.

Re: Defensive Leppers
I'd have to change Quade out with Matthew Morgan. There is no point denying in attack Morgan is sublime. But at the moment probably the worst defensive non tackeling fly half around by a big margin. The Ospreys need to work on him.

Have you actually bothered to watch him play?
People make a fuss of his size, but having seen him play in several games he seems decent enough. Granted if a Number 8 is charging him 5 metres from his try line off the base of a scrum he might struggle, but so do nearly all fly halves.
Leicester run at him non stop in the Lv Cup and Morgan was equal to each forward he had to take down. He small but to say he is the "worst defensive non tackling fly half around" is total crap and I wonder if you have actually seen him play yet. He is brave in the tackle and does put people on the ground.
