Re: The Gentle touch ?
Doesn't look like it'll happen sorry:
Hull Kingston Rovers have ruled out Australia and Wests Tigers assistant boss Peter Gentle as their new coach.
Current coach Justin Morgan will leave the club after six years in charge but chairman Neil Hudgell says his replacement will not be Gentle.
"I'll make an exception as I said I wouldn't comment on any specific name," Hudgell told BBC Radio Humberside.
"But I can categorically say that Peter Gentle won't be the next coach of Hull Kingston Rovers."

Re: The Gentle touch ?
I have just spoken with a friend who helps coach Rovers academy and he says Hudgell had a meeting with Gentle on saturday and further talks yesterday , can only assume after Hudgell's statement that they couldn't come to terms ? .

Re: The Gentle touch ?
That's what i'm guessing, especially seeing as he was at the match. Must have been quite a way apart with the deal with the quote: categorically say that he won't be the next coach of Hull K.R!!

Re: The Gentle touch ?
I would guess that the imports at Rovers would be on more money than the average Rovers British player. so if it is the case he won't spend extra money on a Aussie coach why spend extra money on overseas players?KINGKENNY7HEAVEN wrote:Hudgell not wanting to spend money probabley .
in my eyes its better coaches who make better players, not better players make better coaches.
