Pirates vs Chiefs - local rivalry in pre-season friendly
Both sides have named strong squads for tomorrow's Clash of the West Country between the Cornish Pirates, last season's runners-up in the Championship, and the Exeter Chiefs, who finished 8th in their first outing in the Premiership last year. Expect a full-on tussle at Mennaye Field, with no quarter given and none asked!
Cornish Pirates (from): Cattle, Cooper, Cook, T Cowan-Dickie, Daniel, Davies, J Doherty, D Doherty, Kessell, Locke, McAtee, Pointer, Thomas, Westren, Andrew, Burgess, Elloway, Maidment, Marriott, Myerscough, Nimmo, Paver, Rimmer, Smith, Storer, Walker-Blair*, Ward
* dual-registered with Exe and Pirates, along with Dave Ewers, Lloyd Fairbrother and Sam Hill (currently away on England U18 duty down under)
Exeter Chiefs: Dorrian; Sestaret, Tatupu, Naqelevuki, Foster; Mieres, Barrett; Moon, Clark, Andress, Muldowney, Hayes, C Slade, White, Phillips. Reps: Alcott, Sturgess, Budgen, Bentley, Baxter, Scaysbrook, Thomas, Jess, Rennie, Dollman
All change for the Chiefs this week, with just the one survivor from the team that started last weekend against Connacht at Athlone Park, altho Josh Tatupu switches from wing to OC. Club captain Tommy Hayes makes his first appearance of the season, having recovered fully from a minor neck operation over the summer. Head coach Rob Baxter will have used 34 players by the end of this fixture over the two friendlies, with Llanelli Scarlets up next at Sandy Park in the final pre-season warm-up.

Good Chiefs squad there, I have to say.
Is the Pirates' D. Doherty, Dave Doherty, ex of Leeds, Wasps and (last season) Jersey?
